Action/Platformers for the PC

Just another request/suggestion thread here, but I've trying to find some action adventure/platforming games for the PC and I've been coming up short. I'm thinking about picking up Super Meat Boy, but I just want see some othere suggestions thrown in. Looking for games like Devil May Cry or Super Meat Boy, games that are fun in short bursts but have immense replay value due to high scoring or collectibles/unlockables(which I enjoy immensely).

So ya, any suggestions would be great

I'm guessing that these games are few and far between on the PC then =S

I can't think of any recent ones. Soul Reaver/Legacy of Kain series I think has a game that was released last decade.

VVVVV is a great indie game as is Eversion, look to the indies for platforming on PC.

Brink,Thief 2 is fun in short bursts(first person stealth), any ROM you can run which is what I would do, and just check Steams indie section.

Why of all games mention Thief when the OP's looking for Action/platformers? Thief is nearly the exact opposite of the examples given. Great, great game, but not what he's looking for methinks.

Anyway, as to the OP, here's a pair of em to whet your appetite. Both FREE on the PC (Pretty sure both have paid console versions), both damned fun and brilliant in their own quirky ways:

Spelunky
Cave Story

Quite a few other fantastic retro-style platformers out there as well. I Wanna Be The Guy is a masochists version of Super Meat Boy for example, so ridiculously hard that personally I never made it past the first few levels before breaking into tears and begging the game for mercy.

How about Darksiders? its pretty much a god of war clone (but not a bad one) or batman arkham asylum or the prince of persia sands of time
