Active Shooter; thoughts on it?

Wellp, didn't say I was surprised to see this coming, along with the controversy.

You know what? Despite me being a communist socialist low-t soyboy cuckolded SJW, I actually find this game fascinating and, assuming it plays worth a damn, I'll be into it. Heck, I'm a little sad it didn't include the option to play as one of the teachers attempting to successfully evacuate your class safely.

Any opinions on this? Offended? Too tryhard? Outrage fishing?

I think the term "tone deaf" really comes to mind. Free speech, artistic expression and all that jazz, but if I were a game dev, I'd think I'd be more interested in making games that wouldn't, for a fact, blow up in my face. After 9/11 no game dev said "you know what we need right now? A game about crashing planes into buildings, people will love that." I don't think an optional mode where you can stop the planes would've made things go down more easily.

Game looks like non-budget shit anyway.

From what I hear it's an asset flipper, that alone guarantees it as a piece of garbage.
At first, I thought this was a home port of a legit simulator with the same premise.

Yea, lookin more and more like it won't play worth a damn.

It's funny how when you think about it, Active Shooter is just a few cynical on-screen quotes attacking U.S. gun laws away from all the critics giving it rave reviews and defending it to the last blood vessel.

Games like this definitely don't help anyone. Well, other than the NRA and pro-gun advocates that will use it to blame school shootings on video games. I'm not saying that it's a conspiracy. Far more likely just some attention grabbing asset flipper who saw a potentially quick way to make some money or gain some infamy.

Wasn't the US government already making a game like this for training purposes?

Also wasn't there a trailer last E3 for a new tactical shooter that had one of its settings as a school or university?

I don't find this to be offensive, and I don't find this subject matter to be off limits. If it had better graphics and production value, it could have been disturbing. I mean, you could shoot up a university campus in GTAV, so I'm thinking it's not that big of a deal.

Just another shitty Steam game made up of stolen assets cobbled together in such a tasteless, tacky way as to coast on the controversy. At worst it gets its 15 minutes before being completely forgotten.

Just someone who tries to profit from recent tragedies, it's garbage that someone put together in 10 minutes. At least with Hatred the developers put some time and effort into making it.

Ironically, Hatred was a labor of love. Sick and twisted love, but love nonetheless.

I work in the school system, so yea, quite familiar with that sim. That's why I said I was hoping this might be a home port of it.

Looks a bit like RAGE (or whatever that shitty twin-shooter was called).

Crap 'game' made by some INCEL/Neckbeard trying to make a quick buck off all the 'EdGy' kids.

Look like someone made a hastily cobbled together piece of shit to capitalize on current events, hoping to make a quick buck through controversy.

And considering the attention it's gotten, the ploy might actually work.

Outrage fishing. And not in the best of times really. With so many school shootings in the news lately, added with the current political climate, legal actions against games for political points are a risk almost as tangible as in the mid 90's. No need for making them things easier with tone deaf games.

I would if you could play as an armed teacher defending the students (like that NRA argument that arming teachers is the best solution). It would at least be hilarious. Such a missed opportunity...

Looks like a shit game but it has a right to exist like any other. Jimbo Sterling just gave his hypocritical two cents a little bit ago.

Let em. They're not taken seriously in regards to defending gun rights after the whole bump-stock thing, or any of a long list of times before that they let "common sense" legislation exist.

Just need to tell the government to fuck off. Easy as usual.

It'd be good if they put the polish in to make it play with any bit of strategy. Make it online and play as the shooter(s) or police response and a few players anonymously playing as students for good measure. It's actually a great premise for a game if judging solely by gameplay possibilities.

It's this generation's version of "made-for-TV movies" that are "ripped from the headlines"- i.e. hastily-assembled garbage made solely to cash in on tragedy or controversy. Nothing new under the sun there.

The thing that's got me shaking my head is all the people who say "we NEED this game to exist to make those 'SJW cucks' angry". Hey, thanks for proving that whole "gamers are sexist antisocial shut-ins" stereotype true.
