It wasn't google that alerted me to the news, it was the financial times and the article was titled "Activision could buy Myspace". I would scan it and show you the entire article, but I really can't be bothered with the effort, google should provide enough info

But you do have a point, so its kind of up in the air as to whether its just him with a keen interest to buy it or for the sake of the entire company. The article specifically mentioned "Activision Blizzard's" interest in Myspace and I could see the company doing more with Myspace then Bobby on his own could.

Bobby Kotick, chief executive of Activision Blizzard Inc., said he had been approached about being part of the investor group but hasn't yet committed. Any investment by him would be personal and small, and Activision wouldn't be involved, he said.

Kotick himself has spoken on the issue.

I'm wondering why the times stated it would be a good investment for Activision Blizzard, glad he himself cleared that up.

Still, I could see it being of benefit to Activision, especially where Battle.net is involved.
