No one's expecting a CEO to take a vow of poverty, but there's "getting rich by building a good company" and there's "getting rich by strip-mining the place and pissing off all your customers". The former means that there's a chance there'll be a company still there after he leaves, the latter, not so much.

Hey. As long as when I wake up tomorrow, there are still aging white guys making too much money by taking advantage of people who like things they don't care about and barely understand. Because the day that stops being the case, we're all going to have to stock up on the canned goods and seal the door to the vault.

The status-quo may not be pretty, but it beats the certainly hideous unknown. That's why change is always wrong.

Vote Republican!

No way a CEO wringing money out of products his company produces without really caring about his customers? Are we supposed to be surprised?

***** all you want its not going to change anything because people will still be buying thier games.

Carpetbagger fits perfectly especially being a Southerner the only thing worse then that is ethnic slurs even then just barely.

I'm just joking, carpetbagger's as good as any other word to describe someone, even if I have to think back to some rather unpleasant times (8th grade SS) to remember what it means.
Pretty sure it was a northerner that moved to the south right after the civil war to take jobs of those who were crippled/dead.

Also he's a Douchebag what happened to Brutal Legend? GHOSTBUSTERS? C'mon that looked awesome!

Yeah I love how nobody blames the Blizzard half of Activision-Blizzard for splitting up Starcraft II. Give me a break. If you can't adequately fight to have your game released properly, then you're either not convincing enough or (and this is the more likely scenario) you are in on it.

That was awful, mean-spirited, cruel and totally called for. I loved and agreed with every word of it. Activision sucks and the CEO is the exemplar of what not to do if you want to be successful in the video gaming industry because you enjoy video games.

Maybe if there was some kind of vote every week and if a two thirds majority felt that a CEO of a games company had done wrong then they would have to make a public apology and then get Tasered.

i'm pretty sure they wouldn't be that dumb to do stuff like that, i'd almost be willing to bet that it tanks cause of this and everyone will wonder why.

actually that's wrong, there are ppl who scream and cry about and no matter what the person in charge will hear nothing of it. prime example is the sept 11 attacks and bush, in this case he ignored EVERYTHING that was told to him including a report titled "bin laden determined to attack within america" by your logic those attacks happened cause ppl weren't telling him enough

there is plenty of times where the boss won't listen to what employees tell them will happen if they do something stupid and there's not much else you can really do cept let the thing fail and/or quit

Lay off Blizzard though. Activision CEO had nothing to do with it, and your in fantasy land if you think Starcraft will bomb. It's physically impossible, too many people would buy it if it was just a Starcraft expansion pack.

And to think, there was a moment when we thought that this would be the man that would save us from the evil EA.

it won't sell as well as you'd think, how many gamers will want to pay $150 for a game they were originally going to pay $60 for? cause they won't be charging $20 per game, they'll be charging full game price, so what will happen? they won't sell much and the game will be pirated so much that it will make spore look like it never appeared on any torrent tracker

i'm sure some ppl will buy it but frankly i'll wait till all 3 come out and end up in the bargin bin cause if i'm paying $150 or more for 1 game i better be getting a LOT of cool swag with it or else it's not worth it

That has to be one of he harshest attacks of character outside of politics I have seen in awhile. However, I actually find myself agreeing, seeing as Activision unjustly dropped Brutal Legend for seemingly no reason other then it couldn't make a good sequel.
This.

Actually I'm of the opinion he let the attacks happen so he could do what he wanted to in the Middle East but that is completely different from this so I don't even know why you brought it up. Guess you didn't want to bring Godwin's Law into this whole thing (terror threats =/= business practices). Oh, and this is just a bit of advice for the future, take the time to spell "people" instead of this abbreviation stuff. It's 3 extra letters, not a big challenge.

umm Godwin's Law [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwins_Law] is with NAZI's not terror, nice try tho but in future when you want to chastise ppl for the way they type, make sure you don't make your own mistakes as it's bad form
