Holy necro Batman! Who finds these old threads, and thinks that it is a good idea to respond to them?
As other people have said, just about the only thing i ever see posted on this site is "REPOST - learn 2 search nOOb!" Honestly its one of the things I hate about this place. This kind of crap is what this community is implying that it wants.

When someone posts an unusual topic, that was repeated a year ago, nobody mentions it. When somebody makes a "Favourite TF2" class thread, it is understandable to just tell them to search next time. And because you seem to react so violently to someone telling you about the Search Function, I can only assume that you are a repeat thread offender.

And I was surprised because -

A : This thread is old enough to be buried in the middle, where it is very hard to find it.
B : This was necroed in a response to a user who has barely posted in a while
C : This no longer applies. The 360 is now £120.

And why would a Search come into this? This is a News article. I don't understand. He wasn't going to post this news article was he? If he genuinely was going to post an outdated and old piece of news, searched, and found this, then good for him. However, I doubt this very much. The Search Bar doesn't come into this, since he didn't search to prevent a repost. He found a very old thread that has no meaning now, and necroed it. See where I'm coming from?

When the first post in any new thread is "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON MORON" how can you bash someone for posting in an old thread?
Its over two years old, anyway you look at it, its OK to just start a new thread on this, mainly because only about four people who actively post on these forums were members back then.

...NECRO RANGERS UNITE!
Red Ranger: rage (almost being tricked by a necro)!
Yellow Ranger: confusion (trying to realize why this was necroed)!
Pink Ranger: obsolecence (seeing that this necro is completely irrelevant today)!
Blue Ranger: depression (the after-effect of the rage induced by the necro)!
Black Ranger: rot (letting the necro die again)!

Jeez. And here I thought something interesting could be discussed. Instead I wind up with naught but a mildly entertaining remnant of the past. Oh, and also wondering why this "Octorok" fellow was banned. Ah well.

No, I dont see your point, because this is an excellent example of how the users of this site need to learn to relax. Often times people want to discuss things that have already been discussed. However, people dont want to put their comment at the bottom of a year old, 100 post+ long thread that nobody will go to. Its the equivalent of screaming at the bottom of a cave. Also, more often then not, the post is SIMILAR but not IDENTICAL. They are discussing something close to the same thing, but looking at it from a different angle or asking a slightly different question. Also, there is the fact that forum communities grow and change. By opening the discussion again, there will be new people that were not there the last time to add new opinions or questions, making it a unique and new exchange. If you don't want to see reposts, dont post in them, and they will go away. The fact that the thread gets posts keeps it on the list, and only proves my point that people want a fresh discussion, even if its a topic that has already been covered. Sometimes people like to talk about the same thing.

Point of fact - I am not a repeat offender, because I would never bother to make a post on a forum like this. All you people will do is ***** about it. I choose only to take part in others discussions because of this.

Imagine if Nintendo announced a price cut. People complain that $249.99 is still too high. And if they lower it to let's say...$189.99. What then?

I really don't know why people were getting their panties in a twist (I think I know which thread you're talking about), unless Nintendo somehow announced a price cut without atually announcing it, I was under the impression that the Wii was always $249.99

Can someone please show me otherwise?

*inner voice* Shut up Activision. I've had enough of you spewing garbage everywhere.

Go back to making decent games and then I'll start listening to you.

By this standard, Sony and M$ should have just price dropped their existing systems and added motion sensitivity to their controllers to achieve parity with Nintendo.
Are you telling me this isn't already happening?
