"From Activision comes the new...Flute Hero Irish melodies, Scottish folk music, the choices are endless, get that crowd moshing with such hits as Sea Breeze by the Timmy's and Rock out with your flute out by the O'Hanson brothers. Coming to a store near you!"

Wait for it I fucking know it's coming. DJ Hero? Just *sigh* I just can't say anything else.

Doesn't that already exist in the arcades as well?
IIDX [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatmania_IIDX]

At this point I feel kinda bad for Konami. All their videogame ideas are being ripped off.
I love IIDX so much, yet I've never played an arcade machine. As far as I know there are no IIDX machines in South Australia, and I haven't been to Brisvegas for some time.

I have versions 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 on my PS2 and an official controller. The controllers were out of production for a long time, but I have a friend who lived in Japan for a while and happened to come across one. He posted it all the way back to Australia for me, and I was a happy chappy. I'd still love to buy an Arcade Style Controller, but they're hella expensive. :(

If someone in Adelaide has an ASC in good condition and wants to sell it, I'd love to buy it off you. :)

I can't believe this thread has gone on for so long without someone pointing to Photoshop Hero [http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/8/22/].

All I can say is "Welcome to 1997, Activision". [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatmania]

Seriously, Rock Band [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DrumMania], Guitar Hero [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GuitarFreaks] and DJ Hero [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatmania] have now ripped off every single rythm game Bemani Studio's released except for DDR. Expect "Dance Hero" anytime soon.

You could even link Guitar Freaks and DrumMania cabinets for co-op play =(

EDIT: I didn't read the replies before I posted, but I know now it was covered.

Thanks Keane Ng, that's much better. I just have very strong opinions regarding what good DJ'ing gear is :)
I wasn't aware that we had a DJing gear connoisseur in the audience. *tips hat*
More than one, it would seem. Although, I DID learn to spin on Numarks.

I find myself really wanting to cry over the concept of DJ Hero. I just don't see how this could possibly turn out anything other than bad.

One day, all these rhythm-based games are going to get old; why speed up the process?
Ah, you've already forgotten the days of the Dance Dance Revolution with 15 different versions? When it gets old they'll just find a new way to "play" them.

The day they make a rhythm based game focused on rap... I don't know, I just don't know. That will truly be going too far.

Heard somewhere that they were thinking of a 'keyboard' hero, rather then cutting out vocal and using that instead ( i so wish they had)

and in 2010, we have...

Bagpipe Hero! That lovely instrament that fills in the link between Noise and Sound. (I'm part scottish, I can joke about it) In all honesty, if they made that, I would look at it 0_o

*Eye twitches*

Oh no. I swear Activision and EA are trading places now. Activision is starting the EA style milking and EA is starting to get a grip, if only slowly.
