"Tim Schafer's comment that Bobby Kotick 'makes a big deal about not liking games' just isn't true. Bobby has always been passionate about games and loves the videogame industry," commented Maryanne Lataif, senior vice president of corporate communications at Activision Blizzard."

"But as CEO of a company that makes games enjoyed by millions of people worldwide, the demands on his time now make it difficult to play games as often as he'd like to or as much as he once did."
Their is a very specific reason Bobby didn't answer this himself and that is because he would have made the issue worse. No way in hell any of that is true. Every statment that has come out of Kotick's mouth contradicts it.

"Eurogamer: I think he's a bit misunderstood because he's trying to make lots of money when people think he has an obligation to make gamers happy."

He's not misunderstood. People understand perfectly that he's a corporate executive attempting to squeeze every ounce of profit from this industry at the expense of fun, creativity, gamers, anything save his own shareholders. It's not a fucking mystery, and I'm not going to respect him for his transparency.

So often now you see this notion that the world simply has to be a certain terrible way, and you can't blame anyone for filling the unsavory roles in society. Bullshit. The world doesn't have to be a greedy, profit-driven, business-obsessed cesspool of questionable motivations and flexible morality, and the people who make it so deserve my ire. And a bag of dicks.

Are people so nerdy that they actually care about these things? I really just play games,I never watch these things, as if these weren't more than the "Tabloids" of the gaming industry.

Doubtful, this is mostly likely an attempt by both Schafer and Activision to get some free publicity with a slightly temperate feud.
