All I really can comment on this is:-

Feckin' Tories...

Okay, I'll expand on it. As long as the strongly-UK-based syudios stay here (i.e. Rockstar North, SCE Studio Liverpool, MediaMolecule etc.), then that's fine for me.

Rich people want tax cuts.

News is?

Why are people so eager to give rich people more money?
It's not just the big companies.
It's every game studio in the UK.

Because usually those Rich people own your job, and more often than not, if they don't get those tax breaks, they'll keep their money by cutting costs. That cost is most likely 'you'.

I don't particularly like this brand of bulling, but it happens.

Edit:Typos.Yay!
this is why we need labour to abandon its new right wing policies and return to its former left wing status, every one knows they are gonna win the next election they might is well start returning to left wing ideals and take control of the economy

i hate the free market ideals, its just absolutely retarded

Does this mean that games that are already highly priced are going to be more expensive?

Labour are going to storm the next elections.

Oh Lib Dems, if only you could have actually stuck to your promises instead of siding with the Tories.
You can't be mad at them for not keeping their promises, they really never expected to end up in a position where they'd be able to break them.

As for Activision, if they want to go elsewhere, then good riddance to them, we're all feeling the squeeze right now, why should they get a break? Much as I love video games, I really don't think it's an industry worthy of a tax break. Perhaps a tax break aimed specifically at smaller developers could be justified, but not Activision.

Not that I have any love for Activision, but their absence won't help our economy one bit. Still pleased with your decision to vote conservative, british public? Jackasses.

Don't worry, they won't be in after the Lib Dems get hammered in the local elections.

He's better off making the case to Labour, though I doubt they will be in a position to do it while trying to clear up the shit the Condems are dumping on us. Uhg.
If my area is still voting Lib-Dem after this display of atrocious government then I leave the country[footnote]No I don't[/footnote]. I doubt the torys will be in after losing every students votes, their parents votes and not having gained any votes. They may be trying to fix the country but they're doing a piss poor job of it.

I see that Activision are being good this time... by evil means of course. They're threatening to leave so that the videogame industry in Britain thrives but if they follow through with it then 600 people lose their jobs. I see what you did there, Activision, and I'm on the fence about it.

It cant possibly be more cost effective to pick up sticks and leave.
Aye, the cost of paying out 600 severance packages, moving offices and setting up a new office elsewhere followed by the cost of recruitments etc surely cant be cheaper. Maybe in the long-long-long run but I think as said above its just Activision trying to draw attention to the tax issue.

Indeed, because Labour left this country a wonderful, peaceful place to live when they got kicked out of power.

I hate people in this country. Labour instilled in everyones mind that they deserve everything without giving anything back. It's exactly that kind of thinking which is why this country is a complete mess, both socially and finacially.

Ug, I hate politics.

OT: I feel sorry for people working at Activision in this country, if they lose their jobs because a mega company wants a couple more million in their pockets, then shame.

I'ts not just the Lib Dems, its those Tory bastards aswell. I'm fully expecting Labour to get back into power in the next election. Even though I think all of the 3 major parties are crooks and arseholes, I'll be voting for the 'Monster Raving Loony party' this time. They can't be any worse than what we already have, and we can have a laugh at the same time.
The overall system works as a cycle. Labour run things, but then people are unhappy over whatever, so they vote in the Tories. Then the Tories fuck up everything really badly and publically, so people vote in Labour again. Labour gets to work fixing things, with plans that will work in the long run, but people get annoyed about something and vote the Tories in, who try to rush it, etc etc.

Before the general election, the UK was recovering. Slowly, yes, but Labour understands the best way to generate an economy is to have moneyu moving around in it, not the Tories approach of taking money out.

Once again it seems the UK government has failed to please both tax payers and big businesses in one swift move.. great work guys now after only 5 years of coalition we're going to see a return to those dastardly Labour folks..

Well actually if Labour stopped trying to act like Tories and actually started being a proper Labour party then I might even begin to like them..

OT: Screw Activision, if they want to leave the sinking ship behind then let them move to Thailand or China and then get bad stick for some human rights issue down the line...

P.S. - Its funny that my spell checker still doesn't recognize Activision as a real word.. they're obviously not that important then..

The first thing all governments need to do is enact a tax on money exiting the country. The tax shouldn't be prohibitive but it should exist.

That way corporations can't avoid taxes by "licensing" their technology from a tax haven but still claim all of the benefits of a western economy.
