Actor/Actress Overuse.

Is it just me or does it seem like some actors and actress are overused like a cheap hooker, when film makers could easily cast someone new to fill the role, someone who would do an equally good job/an even better job.

I realise that certain actors/actresses are used because they will attract an audience but I'd love to see more new faces instead of always seeing the same people in every movie.

What do you think?

Bruce Willis seems to have been in a lot in the last two years; Surrogates, What Just Happened, Planet Terror, Live Free or Die Hard, Perfect Stranger... He is a great actor but it must be so hard for people who want to be actors to get into the industry when the older actors get every job that comes along.

sorry not always, some director's will just use the actor cause they like the person, no matter if they are popular or not

They were in that Gangs of New York, I think. Then Brad was in Inglorious Basterds, and when I went out the cinemas, I saw him advertised in another movie D=

I think that Tim Burton is overusing Johnny Deep. Sam Reimi on the other hand uses his car in every one of his movies [unlike Bruce Campbell who was absent from Drag me to Hell ... unless I missed something]

I agree about the Tim Burton thing. They've had a collaboration since the 90s, he also uses his wife, Helena Bowen Carter a lot.
Alan Rickman too, they're all going to be in his upcoming Alice in Wonderland movie.

There for a while it seemed like Rob Schneider, Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, and Owen Wilson had at least two movies each per year. They were also really terrible movies. Luckily some bad box office numbers have cut back on their use, but that just means they're going to be passing the torch to someone else.

Yeah, it seems like Adam Sandler just churns out the same movie over and over again and people think he has done something new but really its the same Adam Sandler movie again (as South Park makes fun of). And as for Rob Schneider, well he is just a total mess in my opinion.

Some actors, I love seeing over and again. Will Smith is a great actor and I love his movies, and I personally think that Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Alan Rickman, work extremely well with Tim Burton, so their constant use by Burton in his films is by no means overuse. However, I guess that in some films and with some production teams and directors, certain actors can be overused. I suppose it really just depends on the particular case in question.

film studios don't want to risk 40 million dollars on an unknown, so they'll go with stars.

That being said, there are some actors who are way overused, Shia LaBeouf comes to mind.
