Oh I definitely would love to see some new actors/actresses. Sure, famous people are usually famous for a reason, but I'm gonna kill someone if I see Megan Fox in any other movie than a porn film.
... porn movie with Megan Fox you say... hmm, fancy being a producer if i direct it?
We need a big 'like' button here, =D
*begins building big 'like' button* :D

I don't know about people being overused. I guess I don't really notice stuff like that.
But I do find it hilarious and really stupid when film makers spend millions of dollars
on a big name actor/actress to be in their movie and then they only give them like 2 lines
and they're only in the movie for about 2 minutes.
It's just stupid because they could hire a no name person to do that job.

Examples? I feel like it's just you tbh

However i want to see more of Steven Tobolawsky in shiz.
Maybe if you kept your old avatar he would get more work. You know, people'd be like hey, that guy from Groundhog Day, LordCuthberton's avatar, and Heroes is in that new film! Good on him!

Brad Pitt and Cristian Bale seem to be in every single movie...
To expand on this a bit: In every movie that features Christian Bale [except perhaps American Psycho] his character is almost always in the pursuit of 'Justice'

I think that Tim Burton is overusing Johnny Deep. Sam Reimi on the other hand uses his car in every one of his movies [unlike Bruce Campbell who was absent from Drag me to Hell ... unless I missed something]
yeah but Johnny Depp is an awesome actor and pretty well suited to Tim Burton's style.

as for Sam's car it's a bit of an in-joke, almost every director has those. you are correct about Bruce not being in Drag Me to Hell you are correct, although Ted Raimi is in it, much like he's in every Sam Raimi film

and as for Brad Pitt and Christian Bale being in everything, they're both really good actors

I'm kinda getting sick of Gerard Butler. He was good in "The Phantom of the Opera" and "300", but now Hollywood is going overboard. He's in every other cheesy romantic comedy.

Same with Aaron Eckhart (and i loved Aaron back when he was in "The Core" days of not QUITE being an A-lister yet..)

Shia LeBeouf, Megan Fox, and Jason Statham. They all must die. Or stop acting. At least Bruce Willis is cool in a modern Chuck Norris kind of way. And Christian Bale is the worst Batman EVER.

I think studios bank too much on actors' followings.

Dakota Fanning
Angelina Jolie
Christian Bale
Johnny Depp

Look, I know these actors have talent, but it's not like they're the only ones who can portray a certain role. Was there really no other option for Fern in Charlotte's Web besides Dakota? Could no one else scream and be scared like Dakota in War of the Worlds?

Atlas Shrugged has been in development hell with the most recent setback being Angelina Jolie insisting on the role, then attaching herself to several other projects so that one cannot go ahead. Is it really worth the wait? My roommate is absolutely enamored with Jolie, and can't keep her awe-remarks to herself when we watch anything, "she's so statuesque." She's not the only actress out there who looks good and acts well.

Christian Bale. First of all, I love American Psycho and The Prestige. But what exactly made him so choice for John Connor? Also, as much as I like the two new Batman movies, I find myself biting my tongue to keep from laughing at ol' Bats because Bale's Bruce is basically Bateman as Batman. See, not only is he typecast, he's alliteratively typecast.

Johnny Depp. Okay, I don't think anyone else could have played Jack Sparrow, so I've got to give him that one. But it feels like he's playing every "crazy eccentric" role that comes along. Can casting agencies really not find other nut-jobs out there? It's not even like we have to look all that far; seriously, who would have thought Heath Ledger could play the Joker? Talk about left field.

Is it just me or does it seem like some actors and actress are overused like a cheap hooker, when film makers could easily cast someone new to fill the role, someone who would do an equally good job/an even better job.

I realise that certain actors/actresses are used because they will attract an audience but I'd love to see more new faces instead of always seeing the same people in every movie.

What do you think?
Of course they are, if you got a good actor/actress, the last thing you wanna do is not make the most of it, unless your Bethesda when they hired Patrick Stewart...

Patrick Stewart was but a mere cameo (yet another marketing stunt).
True and nice reference.

Nicolas Cage is overused - He shouldn't be used at all.
He is really good in some stuff (Leaving Las Vegas, Matchstick Men), he is ok in some stuff (Face-Off) and awful in some stuff (everything else).
