Hey all I have an odd occurrence with video games over the past year or so. Now that I spend so much time focusing on school work and a job, I find my media time largely spent with passive forms such as tv, anime, and film, not playing video games that often. It's not like i don't want to play them or think i wouldn't have fun (sc 2, far cry 3, dragonborn, and tomb raider all just sitting there begging for it), but I just never summon the urge to play them except in brief spurts about once or twice a week. I think this has to do with having my focus drained from aforementioned activities. This doesnt affect other students i know, who for instance play lol or sc ladder for hours each day.

Anyone else experience this issue? Just think its amusing to experience add symptoms only with this one thing.

You are correct. Your focus and your energy is being drained. Even though gaming is being done while in a passive position, it's an activity. It require mental energy, which you don't have if you're mentally exhausted or under a lot of stress.

Well I'm glad we pull disorders out of our arse at every turn now...

As you get older and the responsibilities pile up so do the worries, it's just a constant noise at the back of the head, your mind filled with every little thing at once which just makes you increasingly useless during downtime, which is still good for activities that require no concentration but gaming mostly does.
After a long day I do find sometimes staring at a blank screen preferable to playing an even moderately challenging game.
But contrary to our tendency the solution is not peace and quiet it is in fact the opposite, breaking the mold and doing some activity completely out of the regular schedule will clear the head and keep you going.
