That's it. I'm done. I enjoy the escapist, but very much dislike being forced to type in how great particular companies or services are every time I try to post.
while it is no great loss to the community, as many of my opinions are 'retarded', which is probably true, as my mental functions are only slightly higher than a fucking tomato. I'll resign myself to simply looking at posts instead of posting on them. Less rage at being coerced into advertising I can't mute or tab away from.
I understand this might significantly increase the escapist's income from advertisements, but to me anyway, it is more intrusive than simply having a page with an add that redirects you to the page you want to visit (which is extremely irritating, but at least manageable.)

the reason I tolerate adds is that I can ignore them: I am capable of noticing that after five or six repetitions they have an extremely powerful effect on how I view a certain product at an emotional level. Though I'll likely forget the add, and my anger at it, I'll still recognize the name at some level, and hence be more likely to buy or use their fucking product. Name recognition is powerful and IT WORKS. I hate the idea of being manipulated in this fashion.
