Batwoman, I dunno if there is a new Batgirl but it should be said that Batwoman and Batgirl are different, except for you know they are both female superheros in the same style as batman... ya trust me they are different. No real nudity, they do the whole 'conviently placed object' and I found it kinda thinly veiled.Vault101 said:theres nudity in the new batgirl?
Wait huh? That's not really fair, not wanting pornography is just me saying I want something more than masturbatory material, no sex for the sake of sex. No having sex to defeat your enemy or fighting that magically disintegrates clothes etc. There is a difference between adult and pornography. Misfits (bbc tv show) has plenty of sex but never descends to pornography. I dunno if you're a troll just trying to get my goat but I think it should be said that I never said 'omg no in panel sex!' I just said I didn't want something that was just sex and nudity and lets see how many boobs we can fit in panel.Jaime_Wolf said:Also, all of the people saying they want it "without it being pornography" are part of the problem. You want adult content, but not too adult. God forbid you find something sexual that's actually enticing in a work! People are too quick to say "but I don't want porn!" - everyone really needs to abandon this puritanical viewpoint. Sure, there's something to be said against media that has nothing but gratuitous sexuality (personally, I don't see why such definitionally enjoyable things can't have their own place in society too, but I digress). But there's something to be said for media that has nothing but any one thing at the expense of the work as a whole. Some of the best works in any media are filled with completely "gratuitous" sexuality and I am not at all willing to say that they would be better if they had cut some of that out. Too much of the common notion of how to make something adult involves making what is essentially pornography, but making it in such a way that it isn't enticing or might be more than slightly uncomfortable. This is not, to me, suggestive of maturity. Real adults enjoy sexuality and it shouldn't make something "base" or "juvenille" to involve sexuality in a pleasurable way.
sorry Im new to the comic book scene..I had no Idea that batgirl and batwomen were different (I think there have been different charachters who have assumed the Identity as with alot of comics)synobal said:Batwoman, I dunno if there is a new Batgirl but it should be said that Batwoman and Batgirl are different, except for you know they are both female superheros in the same style as batman... ya trust me they are different. killing joke did......Ariseishirou said:Tits are great and all, but there's plenty of them in comic books, as many commenters have pointed out throughout the thread - lots of adult comics depict female nudity with great frequency.
Any comics with male nudity, though? I mean, presumably, in the real world, men are naked just as often as women. A truly "realistic" comic that "doesn't pull punches" wouldn't be scared of showing a little dong.
/devil's advocate
No need to apologize just figured I'd point it out in case you got something like this 'Who was DC comics first openly gay superhero?' and then you could totally rock it by saying Batwoman.Vault101 said:sorry Im new to the comic book scene..I had no Idea that batgirl and batwomen were different (I think there have been different charachters who have assumed the Identity as with alot of comics)
Batwomans gay??!! is this a recent thing? or has it been around before? is that the reason for the nudity? (I sound too excited over this dont I?)synobal said:No need to apologize just figured I'd point it out in case you got something like this 'Who was DC comics first openly gay superhero?' and then you could totally rock it by saying Batwoman.Vault101 said:sorry Im new to the comic book scene..I had no Idea that batgirl and batwomen were different (I think there have been different charachters who have assumed the Identity as with alot of comics)
I think she's just recently 'openly gay' but was always gay it was just never spelled out. In the latest comic Kate Kane is dating a female detective of the GPD.synobal said:No need to apologize just figured I'd point it out in case you got something like this 'Who was DC comics first openly gay superhero?' and then you could totally rock it by saying Batwoman.Vault101 said:sorry Im new to the comic book scene..I had no Idea that batgirl and batwomen were different (I think there have been different charachters who have assumed the Identity as with alot of comics)
I've always wondered, does it still count as the correct answer to a trivia question if a later author retcons it?synobal said:I think she's just recently 'openly gay' but was always gay it was just never spelled out. Not really... it's more psychological fantasy that questions existence and issues of existentialism (to a greater or lesser extent).Yopaz said:xxxHolic (not pornographic no matter what it sounds like) could be one, I haven't read it myself, but it's a horror manga. It's been receiving generally good reviews.
