My old computer, which I bought in 2003 just died and I am going to be needing a new one. I want one that doesn't need to do too much just Microsoft Office for school, surfing the web and possibly video editing. I really don't need one for gaming as I never do them on PC, aside from the extremely occasional point and click adventure. I'm absolutely terrible with computers so any help would be great.

EDIT: The video editing isn't make or break, but it's a nice feature I'd like to have.

Video editing is one of the most resource requiring things out there, and with GPU acceleration available in a lot of the editing programs today you'll almost automatically get a gaming computer out of it.

But honestly anything new will do for what you want it for. Get an Intel i3 (Sandy Bridge) or AMD Llano setup and you'll be more than fine.

get something from Medion or get a simple computer for this kind of stuff you don,t need a 1TB HDD or powerful processor.
you can always ask around office if they throw older stuff out if they give you one without OS simply install Linux on it.
