Adware on My Computer?

I think I may have accidentally downloaded a bit of adware, as you can probably tell from the title. I can't think of what it was that contained it, but I keep getting pop-up ads that are listed as "not from this site", even on the Escapist (I have a PubClub membership). Recently, random words on any page I'm viewing will be highlighted in green, linking to another ad. I've run a full scan with MalwareBytes, and it did remove a few things, but this problem persists. Have any of you had something like this before? If so, how did you go about fixing it?

What AV other than malwarebytes are you using? Try running a full scan.

Check for any newly installed programs through Control Panel, remove anything you don't recognise.

Lastly, it might be a browser add-on - some of them are a pain. Try removing any toolbars, widgets, apps, etc, or, failing that, fully install and reinstall your browser.
