AFK blunders.

Pretty much everyone has put a game down but not paused it, only to come back and find themself in a horrible possition. Specifically for me in Fallout New Vegas I left while stillh olding the controller forward because I was going across a long, relativly flat area. When I return I notice I walked into a cave filled with murderous foot long wasps.

Turns out it was a PVP server, lost all my rare items, (Bronze and Iron, fo shizzle), and never went back.

Yea, he must be talking about Runescape. Bronze and Iron are two materials that can be used to make armor and weapons.
I'm confused as to why he AFK'd on a PVP server. They give you warnings if you're joining one, and you have to jump a ditch to fight other players.

I'm pretty sure ALL servers were PvP. You could only really PvP in the wilderness though. Sad stuff.

Haven't forgotten to pause games, but did once fall asleep while playing Vanguard Bandits for 37 hours straight (I really loved that game and it was weekend, okay?) to get all story modes and endings. Fortunately, it's one of those turn-based TRPGs, so it didn't matter.

That was a while back. I'm not sure if they reimplemented it though.
Last time I played, which was about a year ago, the wilderness was PVE, not PVP. You had to log into a bounty server or PVP server to fight someone else.

In the Resident Evil Remake on the Gamecube, a bit later into the game I figured that standing in an empty room was perfectly safe. Came back 'bout 15 minutes later to find that a horde of zombies had busted down a door and were munching on a Jill sandwich.

Last time I played, which was about a year ago, the wilderness was PVE, not PVP. You had to log into a bounty server or PVP server to fight someone else.

Yeah I know they ruined PvP one time but I'm pretty sure they recently reimplemented free trade and wilderness PvP.

I left Discworld running by accident and wasn't aware it had a bit where Rincewind would come up to screen directly and call for the player, knocking on the moniter and everything. Confused the hell out of my family.

I always pause a game if I could when I go afk. However I have encountered many afkers while playing Left 4 dead 2 (versus). This usually results in either a votekick or people getting slaughtered.

Gotta love those Cazadors, fast as the wind and deadly as a freakin' land shark. Actually and I know I'm being a grammar Nazi bout this, but if you were on a console it would be AFC, Away From Controller. AFK is Away From Keyboard.

Left my ship sitting in an asteroid belt in low security space in EVE Online while I ran to the toilet. Came back to find myself locked and warp-scrammed by a couple of pirates. That was pretty stupid. Ah well. It was only a cruiser. Live and learn.

this almost never happens to me, hitting the pause button is second nature to me. the worst thing that happened was in a total war game where i did not pause during battle and lost half my troops. Still won the battle though but at what cost
