So I just abandoned another posting. A long one. After typing for about 5 minutes, I realized I didn't want to say what I was about to say (or something like that...). I thought "Puh, screw this" and went back to the Off-Topic Disscussion threads.

So anybody abandon a lenghty post recently? And why did you do it? Was it because the other person wasn't going to listen to you or your post would have been pointless?

All the time. You either figure out half way through that there's no point, or you're contributing nothing, or whatever and just ignore the thread. Probably more of a good thing than a bad one.

It happens to me all the time, usually because I write something long and angry and hateful and don't want to get in trouble.

I do that all the time. Usually someone says something really arrogant or stupid and I want to call them out on it, but after the initial surge of annoyance wears off I eventually decide it's not worth the effort and go read a different thread.

I do, usually when I figure someone's already said it, it's not worth typing out, I can't explain it or I have no clue what I am saying.

Yeah, especially when I'm on the iPad like I am now. If I'm not sure I can say what I want to say properly, then I don't want to say it at all. Then again, sometimes rashness gets the better of me.

Yeah, all the time. Sometimes I'll be typing a gigantic post and realize I'm just writing the same thing over and over. Either I rewrite it, or just toss it completely.

I had a long reply started for this, but I got sidetracked.
Suffice to say: yes.
