Which one would you rather play against?

See, the thing with humans is that they can be right jackasses at times when you just want to sit and play a proper match, they also don't always make the best team players, prefering to be a LEROYYYYY JENKINNNNSSSS or just a royal prat in general. But at thier best, tactics and planning is made more fun and making friends is also a bonus, not to mention the unique skills and assets each person brings to the game, which makes for a challenging opponent or useful team mate.

On the other side of the spectrum, AI, aka computer controlled charaters on the other hand can sometimes make very challenging opponents, especially in Modern Warfare.....on the highest difficulty.....with one human team mate.....against something retarded like 9 computer opponents....on two different teams. Putting that aside, and don't ask me why I bothered to do that because I'll just reply to you "I'm not entirly sure why, curiousity I guess". There is also the fact they don't mock you after they kill you, swear, act childish, moan about you winning and quit, have internet issues and get disconnected just in the midst of a good battle, get called away for dinner. The game can be paused, you can have your dinner and replenish energy....etc, you get the idea. Need I mention camping?

So which do you prefer? Offline with AI or Online with people? Any reason why?

I get extremely competitive when playing against other people. It seems to sap the enjoyment right out of the game. I really enjoy playing cooperatively with other people, but there is something about the competitiveness that just ruins the experience.

Besides I don't have the hours to invest in the game to keep up with the level of play I see in many online games, which further reduces the fun for me. Yet I can play all day against A.I. and not suffer the same problems.

It depends what I'm playing, really. If I'm busy plowing through the campaign of a game like AssCreed, then most certainly AI.

However, for stuff like ArmA and Battlefield 2, then real people... also WoW with bots wouldn't work.

Plus, I like to be some kind of Supreme God of Win in most singleplayer games (with a few exceptions).

Humans are better at being unpredictable, and can use much more advanced tactical and strategic methods.

AIs have much more stable difficulty levels, and tend to be fun to play around with. They get repetitive very quickly, and tend to have far less interesting behavior overall.

Though I lean towards playing offline against AI, or with a few friends against the AI. Mostly because I'm rarely comfortable playing with other people, and I like to be able to shut down a game when I don't feel like playing anymore. I really like playing against other people i know though, as it usually is far more enjoyable.

OffT: CAN WE COOL IT WITH THE CAPTCHAS?! I'M NOT A ROBOT!!

Yeah, as much as its nice to have AI, they're never as fun as the real thing.

Humans definately.

You cannot apply the tricks and mind games to AI that you can to humans. It brings a new level of depth into games.

Also, AI aren't exactly the most tactical of opponents in some games. They usually rely on cheating or extremely fast re-action times to bring their difficulty.

Nothing beats the feeling of totally destroying another human being in reality video games.

I like to be competitive.

Erm, both really. AI's make for a good way to get me used to playing a game, or when I just want a quick, simple round. Humans are good for difficulty and more variable tactics. AI more since I'm usually not amazingly great at stuff like that.

AI definitely...

... because they don't tell me what they're going to do to my mother after I kill them without pity or remorse...

If I want story and pacing, I want AI, because humans will screw that up.

If I want a challenge, I want humans, because AI can't provide one.

Humans, cuz they don't have *teleport bullet directly into my face* ability. And by that I mean, insane accuracy.

then you must not have played me, my friend. mwahahahaha!

but yeah, definately humans. sometimes theyre twats, but usually their behavior is decent (in my experience), and when theyre challenging, its simply engaging on a level that AI cant hope to match. plus, you might make a friend, or at least respect/earn respect from another player.

i never ever respect AI. i just want to kill it.

Black Ops AI is a bad example. On easy they pause for a second before murdering you from across map. On harder, they kill you the moment they see you. They always see you if you are in front of them, but never turn around to see if you are behind them.

A better example for AI is KZ2. A coordinated human team vs an AI team on hard is usually 1 sided for the humans. In KZ2, you need to be very coordinated to stand a chance.

Online<AI<LAN with friends.

If I want immersia then AI.
If I want to dick about then people.

Can't really get immersed with people screaming about what they're gonna do to my mother after every round.
