I played with no protection from six till sixteen (Current age) and I'm fine, I just have one hell of an eye and hiding place. Get a good BB gun, The less time it takes to cock it and reload it, the better. Final advice: Goggles, Winter clothing or protective gear, a good gun, and that you shoot people quickly. YOU HAVE NO TIME TO AIM.

Shooting people in the back at paintball is immense, And ive got a mahoosive green jacket, so i dont feel the shots (unless theyre on MY back, but im prone most of the time anyway, yaay Snipey!)

That being said, it does sound cool having replica weapons rather than the funny looking ones you get in paintball. It's odd that I have never heard of it.

The replica weapons are very cool. As for your other question, it's all about honesty. You get hit, you put your hand up.

Wear clothing suited to your environment. If you're playing in a woodland wear something that will blend in, preferably actual camouflage. The amount of times I've seen new people at the site wonder why everyone can see them in their white and black tracksuits is astonishing.

Also, get a relatively expensive AEG (automatic electric gun) rather than the cheap springer ones. My AK 47 set me back £150 but it's internals are metal, it has a mosfet inside and has a real wood and metal body.

This may go against what someone else has told you, but until you are sure you are gonna stay with the sport, just buy yourself a cheapie 20 dollar spring gun. Mine lasted a few months. They may not be very accurate after a while but by then you should know if you really like the sport or not. But yeah, if you are sure the sport is for you, get a good gun. Government surplus stores sometimes sell them for a good price.

Some good stuff to wear while doing this would be a decent pair of jeans along with a zip up hoodie thats light but not too light (I assume that you would be playing in summer so yeah) and a pair of light fingerless gloves are a good idea. also, if you are too cheap to spring for goggles, at least use an old pair of ski goggles. But really its best if you buy a proper set of goggles.

What is airsoft? Similar to paintball?

It's basically dicking around with BB guns made into a sport.

So how can you tell if you shot somebody? Without dispute I mean.

It relies entirely on honesty, which is why its best to play with mates, or with referees.

Some people at big events can be dicks about it and not own up, but they are few in number, most people just wanna have a fun day pretending to be soldiers.

I played air softing with a group of friends out on a series of rock formations we call the catacombs. It was a lot of fun. For the most part you are going to have to trust those you play with to be honest about taking their shots. Though the number of people saying that it really hurts surprises me, but then maybe it was because it I was wearing a jacket and jeans while playing, so I didn't have any exposed areas, or maybe my group was using different pellets, or both. Still, even with a jacket, you should be able to feel a pellet make contact. I will say this though, I have played paintball, and airsoft's impact is nothing compared to paintball, not even close. Paintballs usually leave welts.
I had alot of fun with both, so if you have a good group, by all means go for it.

As far as purchases go, my first gun was an electric AK-47 for about $100 online. When you're buying a gun, my one big recommendation is buying one with a full metal gear box, and preferably just total full metal. They last much longer, are more fun to use, and are more reliable.

Also read some tips online, such as how to be stealthier and on wikianswers their is several tips based on how you want to play. Be it sniper, support gunner, or whatever.

i play both, i have photo realistic guns for both airsoft, and paintball. I have a 600 dollars PB gunthat uses clips and a remote for the C02it the best gun ever but trust me, when you get in close quaters with paintball guns, YOU WILL FEEL THE PAIN.


I also have a 300$ gun for airsoft, fullmetal internals, composite outer shell, 410 fps, with a working silencer on it. Best gun ever for playing at night, i snuck up and took out an entire scout party with it, twas epic.



as for my experiance, if you can get a realistic paintball gun get it it makes the game crazy fun. just dont get shot in the face >.>
