Alan Wake Hype Thread

Until a few minutes ago, I wasn't sold on Alan Wake. It had passed me by so far. Then I watched the "Building a Thriller" trailer and now i'm engulfed in hype. I preordered the special edition and now I have 43 days of rocking backwards and forwards on my chair before the game arrives in all it's beauty.

What do you guys make of it?

I'm definitely still excited about it, but I don't know HOW excited I am anymore. I mean, it is like, what, 3-4 years late now? I clearly remember seeing the first trailer, and thinking this could fill the gap left by Silent Hill (R.i.p.), and I can still see that happening, but I'm remaining sceptic until the game actually gets released.

Yeah I'm not big on horror but i love a good story and that is what is really selling alan wake to me.

Aside from its name which popped up in one of the ZP videos I didn't know anything about this game until now. Looks nifty... I'll rent it first, though, with this kind of game you never know. *remembers Silent Hill 4*

I'm pretty interested, but I haven't pre-ordered it yet.

The game almost has too much hype, and I'm concerned. When it gets that level of hype, I am inevitably let down.

I'm totally hyped. I think the episodic business/distribution model is as interesting as the content of the game itself - a sign of things to come, maybe? Whether I will be able to afford the thing is another matter, sadly.

Defintely has something of the mighty Peaks about it though, doesn't it?

1) Don't make much of it at all. Looks like all the other action games, nothing out of the ordinary.

2) Not the slightest bit. I used to get hyped up till one game let me down so much it killed my hype glans.

Yeah that is bad. Looks like the perfect game for PC. I will miss out if it turns out great.

I pre-ordered it a few days ago. It looks to be generally VERY good and it's written by Remedy who made Max Payne 1 and 2, so I'm hoping for some VERY good writing.
