I've been watching this stream of a guy playing through Alan Wake on Justin TV. So far, it seems good enough to warrant my purchase. For anyone who is interested, here's the stream (Anyone who dislikes spoilers, I would recommend you not watch): http://www.justin.tv/finalthirteen#r=9YNaz6Q~

His personal opinion is that "the game is pretty good, however, it isn't exactly a contender for Game of the Year".

Any thoughts on the game? Do you plan on buying it?

Oh yeah, I do.

Actually I did, when it was coming out on PC. But it's made by the team who made Max Payne, and it looks awesome from what I've seen so far.

At some point in time I'll finally get it.

For anyone interested, the machinima channel on youtube has got a live-action prequel series to the game airing.
Ahh, yeah the third episode of that actually came out today or yesterday. I was surprised to find that it's actually pretty top notch stuff; I'm enjoying it.

I am not sure. It seems like it might be pretty good, but when it says "You can completely explore the town" I get the impression this will be one of those boastful things that sounds great until you start running into all the limitations they failed to mention.

I shall keep an eye on it, but it's not a "must buy" at the moment. I am considering Arkham Asylum instead as I have been meaning to play it. Or the original Fallout games.

It wouldn't affect me seeing as my PC's GFX card isn't quite good enough, but it seems a bit harsh for them to drop the PC version.

I was excited when they announced this at E3 2005. But since they dropped PC support I've been very frustrated with them.

Yeah, I'd be frustrated too. However, if you have a 360, are still considering getting it?

I'll be getting it once a price drop comes. It doesn't seem like something I'd want to pay full price for.

Since they dropped support for PC i forgot about this game. I use my 360 for platform/racing/fighting games. Games like Alan Wake would really add more when released for PC IMO.

I might rent it someday

It looks quite good and the kind of game I think deserves support. Unfortunately it releases about the same time as Red Dead Redemption. So perhaps later down the road, just not on release.

No-one spoil anything for more me or I'll get mad.

I really want to play it, but it comes out the same day as Red Dead Redemption, Split Second, and Prince of Persia:The Forgotten Sands. Sorry Alan, Marston come first.

I'll probably rent it.
