Michael Bay continues his quest to destroy everything I love. Alan Tudyk who played Hoban "Wash" Washburne in the Sci-Fi cult classic series Firefly has signed on to appear in the new Transformers film in an unspecified role.

Can I just go on the record as saying I really don't like the new Transformers films due in part for my love of the original toys/series/movie, and my love of good cinema and storytelling in general.

I'm scared as I cannot think of an actor in the Transformers films that has had a good role despite the quality of the actor. I don't blame Mt Tudyk for taking the role (whatever it is) as appearing in a major blockbuster film must pay well and could lead to some other great work in the future.

Damn you Michael Bay! Curse your sudden, but inevitable, betrayal!

Do you think there is any chance for Transformers 3?

EDIT: I've also found out that John Malkovich is in it too. This fills me with more dread. IMO there are no actors, past or present, that could have made Transformers 2 good. You can't polish a Turd.

I like Alan Tudyk, hope he does well.

Transformers 3 though! :(

Is it worth the sacrifice to see him in the role?

Ugh. I want to point out, to all the fanboys whining about "desctruction of dreams" that Firefly will not randomly start to suck as soon as Transformers 3 comes out. It will not be effected at all, in fact.

I am constantly confused by the negative reaction towards films such as these. If you didn't like the first then why would you care if the second and third suck as well? Especially when they are not considered canon in relation to the original series.

The only time it'd make any sense is if it's a series that you are currently enjoying and is canon.

Hope this means that Mr. Tudyk can find work in other series and movies as well. I am quite a fan of Firefly and Wash, as you can tell by my avatar, which happens to be the page image.

If it was some sort of Sandra Bullock RomCom then I wouldn't care if it sucked. I like Transformers, and I REALLY want them to be good. They're not, and I'm pissed off. Just because they're not in the same canon doesn't mean I don't care about them. I hate that god damn Stargate Animated show even if it's non canon. the cannonity has nothing to do with it.

I wasn't trying to say otherwise. Merely that I don't understand why you care so much. It's not like you are forced to watch them, that's what I was getting at.

I liked Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. If they screw up Mass Effect 3 I will be pissed off because it's a part of a continues series which I like. After all, I have put time and money into them already and don't want it to be ruined.

If in ten years time some completely separate company decide to make a Mass Effect game which isn't canon to the series, nor is it directly linked to the Mass Effect trilogy then I won't give a damn. It isn't the same series that I previously enjoyed, nor is it related to it. Therefore it isn't worth getting worked up about.

YOu mean they're taking Steve the Pirate from Dodgeball and gonna make him either a whiny ***** like Shia LaShit and the other one or go the complete opposite and do the over-bearing army douche who wants to just blow everything up? With Bay at the helm it's gonna be one or the other.

and James Avery (Uncle Phil) is the voice of Silverbolt. There's the silver lining, but that will be ruined too probably.
