Albums that disappointed you

That album has some gems. I guess you could say parts of that album are like little pieces of heaven....

Then again, I can't say they "Pulled an In Flames on Us". That band fits this discussion to a tee. What a way to abandon your genre, sound, and fanbase.

I actually don't mind In Flames current style. Granted it's no where near as good as before (The Jester Race, Whoracle, and Colony are just amazing), but Come Clarity and Sounds of a Playground Fading are good albums.

OT: Albums that disappointed me. Let's see.

Disturbed's newest album Asylum was a big one. I've never felt let down by any of their albums until this one.

Slipknot's All Hope is Gone. They spent have the album sounding like shit and the other half sounding like Stone Sour. Hey, Corey Taylor, if I wanted to listen to Stone Sour I'd listen to Stone Sour. Keep your bands seperated. That's why you have multiple bands in the first damn place.

The masterpiece? No. Because they released five masterpieces (Rubber Soul, The White Album, Revolver, Abbey Road, and The Magical Mystery Tour) that all had varying sounds. I don't know which is my favorite (it's between Rubber Soul and The Magical Mystery Tour), but asking five people what the best Beatles album is will yield you twelve answers.

Lupe fiasco's Lasers.

He was a really unique artist with an interesting delivery in his first to albums, but the newest one was just him using the same tired delivery of all the crap hip hop artists.

People have been saying plastic beach, and initially I was disappointed but it grew on me. Now I like it a lot.

Lungs by Florence and the Machine was a pleasant surprise, became an instant favourite.

It wasn't a terrible album by any means but it wasn't as good as the previous ones.

A thousand splendid suns by linkin park was utter shit. used to like linkin park but never again.

Oh sweet Jesus yes. With the exception of Leave Out All The Rest, which sits resolutely behind Breaking the Habit as my favourite LP song, that album was awful.

To completely switch genres, I can list a few female singers that I used to like before they decided to completely switch tracks. Avril Lavigne was awesome before she dyed her hair blond and attempted to go punk, and I still maintain there was nothing wrong with Britney Spears' first two albums.

Oh yeah, and the Barenaked Ladies new one, All In Good Time, can go fuck itself. I like Ed's voice better than Steven's, but since Page's departure, all the quirky spark that made me love them is gone.

EDIT: You know what, I've got more.

Meat Loaf's third Bat Out of Hell was by no means bad, but nowhere near the caliber of Bat Out of Hell II. I blame his fight with Steinman.

Rise Against's brand new album, Endgame, has two decent songs and the rest are meh. Every other album of theirs had at least one I fucking loved. Well, maybe not the first album, but everything since.

Ever since Easily Amused changed their name to Keith and Renee (one member of whom I know personally), their sound has taken a direction change I just flat out don't like

Emotive by APC. Terrible album, only 2 good songs and an ok one. (passive, imgine and anihilation).

Most NIN albums, they have goodsongs, but lots I dont like.

Indestructible by disturbed. Maybe I jsut went off disturbe but I just hated it. (only disturbed album I bought, definately the last)

Trivium Shogun was bad, I didnt like the new sound...

Emotive wasn't any good (apart from passive, imagine and anihilation)

and while NIN has done a lot of good song, ghost I-IV was crap.

and if I must bring it up 10,000 days was not as good as Aenima,
that's not to say it was bad... but it just wasnt as good as its predecessors.

but it was still amazing

Any album by Weezer past Pinkerton. Its all down the shitter from there. Also, AB III by Alter Bridge. Its a good album don't get me wrong, but as epic as BlackBird was for me. AB III just seems wanting.

I will admit I USED TO like Avenged Sevenfold, keyword "USED TO". Until I heard their shitty ass cover of walk by Pantera. Its like Chinese Democracy Guns N' Roses Bad.

Dream Theater's "Systematic Chaos" was a massive disappointment for me. I don't really like any of the songs off of the album, and I can only really tolerate a couple.

Black Clouds and Silver Linings was a bit better, but I don't really have high expectations for A Dramatic Turn of Events.

The National's Boxer disappointed me, but High Violet made up for it.

I just couldn't get into Big Boi's The Son of Chico Dusty; I've always been more of an Andre 3000 guy anyway, but I'd heard a lot of great things about it.

The newest Gorillaz album, "Plastic Beach", was a huge letdown besides "Stylo".

"On Melancholy Hill" was excellent, and "Superfast Jellyfish" was at least interesting.

I love Judas Priest, in fact they're my favorite band...but...Nostradamus just wasn't good for me...It was just too far away from what made them awesome! But no...we get that crap.

Year of the Black Rainbow by Coheed & Cambria. I'm really into the whole Amory Wars story of Coheed, but the album just never takes off. It's kind of just boring and I could never get into it.

A lot of people are saying 1000 Suns, but I never liked Linkin Park, but I liked that album a lot.

I didn't enjoy The Final Frontier by Iron Maiden. After listening to them for most of my life I hadn't felt so turned off by them... ever.

Then I went back to their Rock in Rio live album, and everything was alright.

Weezers Raditude.

I never wanted to jump out of a window before but that album definitely made me want to after track 3.

You could probably extend that to every Weezer album after Pinkerton.
