Well it really depends on your veiw point... being religious or not etc etc...
see if you are a chritian your idea of the complete human history would be differnt to a buddhist, or a atheist...
it is a very complex question...
but in short, our world was founded on war and conquest...

I like to think that I could give a nice humanitarian account of our past both good & bad, but I can't help but feel I'd have to dodge the subject of religion, trying to explain to this advanced, space-faring race that we too are advancing.
It would go something akin to the scene in The Usual suspects when Agent Kujan busts in on Verbal with "Who is Keyser Soze?" and Verbal responding "Ah FUCK!"
