I'd like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to this clip. It is a fan made AvP movie done with close to no budget and it still manages to be a finer piece of work than either of the Hollywood AvP films. It's 20 minutes long, simple and fun. It also cost all of $500, and while the effects are a bit dodgy at times, it's still pretty damn impressive.

Seriously, why can't Hollywood manage something like this on a grander scale? The first AvP movie was a bunch of faffing about, then a number of uninteresting human characters jabbering away and any actual AvPing was filmed with poor lighting and jittery camera. A $500 fan film makes a Hollywood "blockbuster" look like crap. Now that's just embarrasing...
