After deciding not to grab the game thanks to The Escapist,Jim and Destructoid I still can't help but feel utterly lied to by Randy Pitchford and Gearbox for this travesty that is Aliens Colonial Marines.

But last night I discussed with a few friends about the time that was wasted on this one game that amounts to 6 years and how Gearbox decided to put a well known franchise on the back burner for their own personal project and even when they were selling BL2 they had wasted 5 of the 9 months left which just shows that they really only cared for their own project rather than the one they were contracted to for 6 years and in the end it was an utter waste of time and resources and just blew up in their faces.

But now the games already out and broken in various places along with the so called "dynamic lighting" being non existent, I found this video from a user on Destructoid showing post patch gameplay to see that it hasn't changed if at all.

Basically I can't see the game ever getting fixed to a desired result for many so I'd think gearbox would be best to really remake the entire game and apologise for their grievous mistake and try to make amends or for Sega to hand the franchise to someone who won't waste their time and money let alone put it aside for another project so we could maybe get an actual Aliens game 2-3 years from now instead of waiting for almost another decade.

IMO I'd want gearbox to rework on the game completely by themselves and put their next BL project on the back burner and actually finish what they started to make proper amends instead of just saying "sorry" and getting away with it while working on their next BL.

Yeah, Gearbox is sure to drop their bestselling franchise in order to remake a game that they've just 'finished' ¬_¬

It would have been better if the entire game was made from scratch, but instead, it got stuck in developer hell for several years and it shows.

Just like Duke Nukem Forever.

That's not to say it excuses Gearbox, but when Sega hands you half a game and tells you to finish it, you can't start from scratch, you work with what you're given.

They'd have been better off just ripping off Left 4 Dead and having aliens instead of zombies. They could have incorporated leveling elements for your character which would unlock equipment for further co-op fun, special aliens (praetorian, Predalien, etc...) in place of special undead and hour long mini-campaigns rather than the single player/co-op campaign.

That actually sounds really good fun actually.

Nah just leave this one where it is, people wouldn't want to buy the "reworked" version after all this.
I say just make another AVP game (better one if you could), and give it so someone who gives a shit.

They could just mod L4D and be done with it.

I'd like to see this IP in the hands of Monolith, considering that they were the guys who made AVP2. They'd be able to give the Xenomorphs some justice.
