Considering what I've seen of this game, this is exactly the sort of game that would most definately be banned in Australia.

Guess not.

ya! take that you attorney-generals/Florida lawyers who hate games! it's good that Australia is loosening it's grip a little. I don't even live there and I hate Akinson, but we here in America have Jack "the antigamer" Thompson, who send his drivers license to rap groups with a picture of batman instead of his face. ya, thats sane.

" This isn't a kids game"

Damn!

OT: Good for them. I wonder how violent it is. Gears 2 violent or L4D2 violent. Probably the same. Next destination: Youtube!

Frankly I disagree with this decision. While it is great that Australians will be able to play this game, I don't thing it is suitable for people under the age of 18 because of the graphic content (from what little I have seen). The problem with the ratings system in Australia is that to allow adult gamers to play adult games, the classification board has to rate it ok for 15 year olds, thus allowing them access to material that they really shouldn't have. This will not be sorted until Australia has an 18 rating so will someone please get rid of Atkinson!

I'm completely blown away by this. I was all geared up for jumping on the import bandwagon, but now I can buy it on my own shores along with all the little kiddies who shouldn't be allowed to. Kudos to you Atkinson, this rating system you have created ensures that young children across Australia will have infinite acess to all the games that only adults should be able to get their hands on. We should set him up in the porn industry, lets really screw over the current generations.

Great news for the Australians! Looks like the classification board finally got some sense into them!

Tis a great victory against the attorney general too...heh
The thing is, this is what he's trying to stop and what gamers are trying to get the R18 rating for. The game obviously isn't suitable for under 18 players and the fact that the game gets an MA15+ rating means that Michael Atkinson is going to get on his box and start spouting about how the game's violent content will encourage gamers to go about killing each other again. It'd be more suited to an R18 rating where it'd be harder to get.

Hark, can you hear the Atkinson machine grinding up?

Root puts 5 Aussie Dollars on the line he's filing an injunction before the end of the week. Any takers?

It's good that it's being sold in Australia, I was really annoyed that it was banned down under. Though while it's for 15 years and over, which I'm sure they can handle the gore, kids will get their hands on it easily still. Australia really does need an R18+ rating.

As someone on these boards once pointed out; if violent games truly made people into violent, non-sensical killers, the likes of Thompson and Atkinson would already be dead.

You know I'm pretty happy with this result, but it just proves that the Classification board are against a rock and a hard place, without the proper tools to do their job. That being a legal R rating.

If we're not going to be hypocritical about this it just goes to show that Australian kids are actually exposed to more gore that kids in the U.S,U.K and most of Europe.

Great result but we still should push for an 'R' rating.

We're waiting to get the rating, then we'll go on our murderous, game-caused rampage.

The great part about it is that it just shows the Australian rating system isn't trustworthy, if it says a game is beyond its classification then turns back on it, which weakens the entire system.

It isn't really the classification boards fault though, the game should be rated R18 but it can't be, so they have the choice to either refuse classification or rate it M15 when it shouldn't be.
