Bit of a disclaimer to start with, this isn't supposed to be a sob story, or a pityfest or whatever, but can you fellows gives me a bit of advice?

So my girlfriend and I have been dating for about a year and a half now, we've been through all sorts of hell, between her family disaproving of me, and me getting shit cus she's a year younger than me and all that, and so last week she up and dumps me with no given reason, none whatsoever. She then refused to talk to me for up until yesterday and finally tells me she dumped me cus I'm a prick to her friends. Is that a bitchy reason, or what? I mean really I loved her. You know? I mean I know to move on, but I mean has this shit ever happened to you?

**edit** also, I got no forewarning to this, no warning, no "knock the shit off" nothing. that's why i was so blindsided.

Well, were you a prick to her friends? A girl's not going to like you if you don't respect her friends.

Man, friends mean a lot to some people. You don't have to like mine, but I'll get pissed if you start hating on them or just being mean to them. I'd ditch a girl in a heartbeat if she talked bad to my friends.

Sure I cuss'm out n all but only when they provoke me, and they do ALL THE TIME constantly accusing me, even after a year, of cheating on her, only dating her for sex, not being good enough for her, etc.

You where a prick to her friends that's adequate reason, what where you expecting? she would blindly accept your behavior towards the people she likes, that's just not going to happen, you want the girl you get the friends and the family in the package deal with it, man up and be nice.

Well, you shouldn't cuss them out, even if you're totally justified. In that situation, you'd want to speak logically and make polite arguments. Gotta impress your girl friend AND win the trust of the girl's friends.

if you were being a prick on purpose, you'd be all kinds of screwed, but you didn't seem to realize you were a prick, and she doesn't seem to have brought it up (unless she did it when you weren't paying any sort of attention.) at all, so yes, she is being a bit of a *****.(from your point of veiw, of course, we can't really tell from this small paragraph what's going on.)

When bitches attack you, respond with "Thank you ma'am, may I have another." Always. I've fought back too, and their first response may be hilarious, but it gets nasty as it progresses.

No, it's not.

How long were you dating? How long has she known her friends? I know it sucks when your best girl comes part and parcel with a bunch of people who you can't stand, but veeery few people are going to throw over their friends for a relationship, especially if you're both pretty young.

Dude I treated her like a goddess, her friends treat her shitty all the time, she's the friend in their group everyone rips on, and we'd been dating a year and a half, most of her friends have been her friend for two

And what? so lets say in the end you win this screaming match convince them all you aren't cheating on her or what ever what have you accomplished? I'll tell you what you have succeeded in convincing them you have a violent temper, your answers should be calm and collected not only is it nicer it's more convincing.

Problem here is we only have your side of the story to go on how do we know you aren't making that up or embellishing the truth for a sympathy vote?

To some it's a legitimate reason. I think it's kinda crappy.

I'd suggest learn and move on.

You don't have to like her friends, they don't have to like you. But you do have to be civil. Be the bigger man if they're pissing you off. And if the chance ever comes up for you to hang out with your other half's friends, just say that you'd rather not hang out with them because you don't get along.

Doesn't matter be civil all the time! you have no excuse for screaming at them, they angrier they get the more you remaining calm will irritate them until they drop it completely.

Yes this happened to me last October, No warning at all. I didn't do anything wrong. Then the next week she talks to me and I ask her why she dumped me, she says we fight all the time (we never fought once) and you went out with me for a dare, WTF are you talking about. Her friends made up all these stories about me for no reason.

The skeptisism(sp?) is understandable, I can't make you believe me, but I try my best to be as straighforward with people as possible.

I think that there is more to it than that, kinda seems like one of those she's pissed at you, but for no logical reason so this will be her reason for now because she wants to be mad at you

Or, how much do you know about women? are you sure you didn't say something really dumb and just not notice?

See this is were these kinds of threads fall, we only get one side of the story, and yeah we may believe you but at the end of the day her side still counts.

Either way I just have to say you are 16 move on plenty more woman out there.
