All Borders Bookstores closing

Oh well, I guess all of my business is going to Powells in Portland, its out of my way, but it has a much larger selection of books, so I guess that's the trade off I have to make.

I miss going there. So massive, so awesome.

This doesn't really affect me, as the nearest book stores to me are both Waterstones, and seem to remember the last time I was in a borders I remember it being quite expensive. Nonetheless it still sad and all too common news nowadays to hear that more people are going to be out of work. My condolences to anyone financially affected by this.


It seems that that the UK high street is really getting the sharp end of the still shaky ground of the economic climate. I also seem to remember a few weeks ago two other high street stores in UK where closing although who they where escapes my memory for the moment.

This greatly saddens me, as the only book store at my local mall is a Borders. I also enjoy purchasing and ownign actual books, rather than having digital copies. This may be becasue I can't afford a Kindle, but I lvoe the feel and smell of books.

find a nice little comic shop or something. They tend to be cheaper AND have a better selection.

Even though this does not really affect me, with me being from another part of the world and all, I still get sad to hear this. I love books, and I really CAN'T read E-books. It has to be printed on paper. I just love the feel, look and smell of books, and the closing of bookstores is always a sad thing in my book... Oh lol, that came of funny.

But yea, sad news for all affected. I feel for each and every one of you. I can just imagine what would happen if the Sci-Fi bookstores (suppliers of everything nerdy! That's where I get my Lovecraft t-shirts, manga, books of all different (mostly nerdy) sorts, and they even have props and cosplay stuff like wands and stuff!) closed down... I'd probably... Organise protests, then put together a group to gather the money to keep the stores in business.... Then, if that fails, start a cult to awaken Cthulhu, certain that the end of the world is happening. xD

Borders was ridiculously overpriced, at least where I live. I did like their selection, but, seriously, every book I ever found there I could get elsewhere for half or a third of the price.

Hopefully, they'll be replaced with cheaper bookstores, or, better yet, comic book shops.
