Lately, this girl has developed a "taste" for men in relationships, she honestly has some sort of radar and she's certainly clocked up a high number of them.

This is actually a lot more common than you might think. Men are, statistically speaking, more attractive when they already have a female partner. It's one of those crazy sociological observations science has made that no one wants to admit to. With women's tendencies to be a bit more vindictive and destructive towards other women, it's comes as little surprise to me that she's excusing her poor behavior on the very notion she condemns on the one hand, while supporting it with the other.

What do you think of her opinion? Do you agree with it? Are you insulted by it or are you a living example of it?

Her opinion is misguided, one which I don't agree with. One person is incapable of representing their entire gender from a behavioral standpoint.

As a bonus question, have you ever cheated/been cheated on?

I have cheated before, and I highly suspect that 1 significant other from my past did so as well. This was before I started being honest with women about my continued interest in women; as if having sex with one woman is going to cure me from enjoying sex with other women.

Obviously some guilt and insecurity is lingering in her subconcious which she is trying to rationalise by projecting assumptions and trying to justify her actions.

It is true that people do have the capacity to cheat, but because they COULD doesn't mean they ever WILL.

Me. I couldn't speak for myself to be honest, (never actually been in a relationship), but I can see how horrible it would be to be a cheater or to be cheated on, so I definately wouldn't ever want to do that.

(Though knowing me, I'd probably be too stubborn/caring to end a loveless relationship because I'd be too worried about hurting people! XD)

I think the only people that could cheat are just assholes anyway, who probably don't deserve the women they are with anyway.

(And for those relationships where both partners cheat? Well. Bastards probably deserve each other. heh.)

I think she has been cheated on and so she goes for attached guys because she feels more secure. She won't be surprised if they cheat on her if they are already cheating WITH her.

I fall for bad guys because I think every guy is just waiting to lose his temper and hit me. So I may as well be with a guy that lets me see it coming. It's subconscious but at least I am aware of it now.

Ive cheated and been cheated on. Not proud of the former, felt kinda betrayed about the latter (despite my cheating having happened before this girl and it actually being with a different girl so I should have been a bit more reasonable about it).

that being said, not all men cheat and when women like to pull that "you thought about some other women in a way I dont approve of while we were dating even when you didnt thinkw e were officially dating" card dont let them lie to you they do it tooso they're no better (that girl a clear example).

Personally, I cant stand cheating, and I felt very sick with myself after I had cheated on the girl (despite us not being serious), so I dont know Im glad i dontk now the girl or a very colour dialogue would have issed from my mouth.

Oh, right! The men, with the cheating. I'm not totally sure how serious a problem it is, but I've never had a long term relationship, so yeah. If that girl is being critical of men who cheat, she really shouldn't, because she sounds like a pretty horrible person.

I've never cheated in a relationship, but then I've never had a steady girlfriend so I've never had the chance. I'd like to think that if I was ever put in a position that I could cheat on my significant other that I would be strong enough to resist, but then again, I suppose no one really ever intends to cheat in their serious relationships.

But definitely not all men cheat, some men do, probably the minority, some women cheat on their men, again probably the minority, but everyone loves Nathan Fillion.

Sounds like a big load rationalising the guilt away going on there. I don't understand the girl's logic here. Even if it was true that all men will cheat, (they won't, some will, others won't) by using that justification to allow herself to sleep with men who already in relationships, just sends out the message she is no better than cheating scum that is man. It would be like saying "I'm kind of a jerk, but because half the population are jerks that makes me being a jerk okay". No it doesn't, it just makes you a terrible person. Incidentally that is what this girl is, a terrible person and the fro the sounds of it, self centred and lacking empathy to others or understanding of how her actions effect others.

Furthermore I find her whole opinion on the matter insulting in number of ways. First, it insults the trust and relationship with her female friends, as her stance makes it clear if she takes a liking to a friend's boyfriend she has no qualms about pursuing him. Secondly, obviously it insults the boyfriends, as they apparently they are now too sex mad to resist her advances, and do not view their relationship with their girlfriends as anything of value based on her opinion. Thirdly her opinion makes a mockery of the mutual trust of those in a relationship, implying that at all time infidelity only needs a simple catalyst to happen. It can but it is certainly not a guarantee.

Oh hey, I know what movie the OP's gif is from...it was an interesting idea for something on the Disney Channel (I think). I don't get why its a big thing though and this is the first time I've seen a .gif of it.

As for the question at hand, I consider myself to have cheated even though I'm sure most people wouldn't really consider it to have been cheating. The gory details being that I made out with someone while being in a relationship with someone else (even getting to 1st base). No sex was involved though. The person who I was in a relationship with at the time though was someone who I had been losing interest in and, butting heads with. The relationship itself having ended not long after my encounter with the other person.

There are a few people online who I'll talk to, getting as far as sexy, sexy role-playing but not far enough that I'd request photos. I'm in a relationship now and I'm pretty sure I'm about as close to cheating as I can be considering there's nothing at all physical going on. My brain is just weird like that.

I've more than likely been cheated on too...though I have no proof but I think one of my exes would bang her dealer or whoever the Hells the guy was.

As for the woman who thinks she's ahead of the game? No. She's just a manipulative, manipulative woman who plays on the weaknesses and temptations of the men around her. I would distance myself from the person honestly.

so depending on how you look at it, it is entirely possible that all men, in some manner, cheat. Whether it is at sex, tests, taxes, games, or even death.

Ugh, I've known a similar reasoning which is just as messed up: `All men cheat, so I can cheat, all men cheat they're just better at it so if you don't think they're cheating you're wrong.`.

The reason I bring it up is because I'm sure people convince themselves of both of these things so they can feel like they are ahead of the game and they wont be fooled like everyone else. As in- all men cheat so I'm not really doing a bad thing by cheating on/with someone.
A way to protect themselves from getting hurt and excuse their shitty behaviour at the same time.

I've never cheated or been cheated on (been accused of cheating but that was bullshit).
I always think, if you are unhappy enough to cheat, you are unhappy enough to leave. So why not just leave?
Seems cowardly (Oh, and don't get me started on the people who go `Oh, yeah, it's terrible of me. I'm so awful. I'm gonna do it some more`- I do not cater to pity parties).

Does make me think, though- who do we consider worse?
The cheater (one in the relationship) or the cheatee (one they cheat with)?
I'd always blame the cheater more, because they made the commitment, but a lot of people just go for the cheatee.

I have an addendum to this, which is somewhat off-topic but somewhat on-topic as well: Gender is irrelevant in every aspect when you consider that stupidity affects all equally.

That, and I've been cheated on multiple times but I have not gone and cheated on anyone. Greatly considered it, but did not attempt it.
