All right Escapist, who remembers Zip Drives?

I remember them, never had one though. Up until recently I thought they stopped using magnetic tapes for storage purposes, turns out they still are. 5 Terabyte cartridges if you can believe it.

The Uni I work for uses them as storage for back-ups.

No I don't remember ZIP drives, which is odd because it sou nds like something my father would have gotten behind.

... I still call USB sticks zip drives sometimes. Which is odd, because I don't think I ever actually had a Zip drive. I probably used them in high school, but I'm not sure. I'm sure it confuses library patrons, most of whom are old, who have no clue that I mean that 'little stick thing' they put into the computer to save files on magically.
