*EDIT* updated the title a bit */EDIT*
As the title says, almost a year ago, I joined this site by a friend showing me Zero Punctuation. May 26th. I stayed for the videos, the content, and the community as a whole. I like you guys in general.
Now I realize a fellow escapee just did their one year post, but I feel I need to do this now, as I will be leaving for school soon, and will not have much time on this site, I'm afraid.
This will be a long one, boy-os and girl..os? Not sure I've figured that one out yet..
So, during my time here, I have seen every Unskippable and ZP. I then became a fan of the Rebecca Mayes videos and have seen them as well as LoadingReadyRun and Doraleous. I've gotten involved with March Mayhem, and a few groups. Not really too big into those.
I have helped those who have asked when I had advice from personal experience, and asked for help during hard times in my life. The last time ((I remember)) I had asked for help, I met a guy on here, who lives in the UK, wereas I am in the US, but he has become one of my best friends, and he knows who he is. He offered me great advice, and simply said to contact if I needed to talk.
My point is, he is one of the many people that has kept me coming back to this site's forums. Others just blew me off, or acted as if there were no real issues, that it was a bad place to ask for help, blah blah blah. I have seen fewer and fewer people like this lately, and it makes me happy to see this community pulling together to help random fellow Escapee's in need.
One downside I keep running into, is failure of my post due to "Page 404: Error, Page Not Found" issues after a long post, or the random log outs everytime I click on a link. These by no means draw me away form here for more than..3 hours at a time...alright, alright 5 ((gotta get sleep too)) and I have adressed these several times and I keep getting told it's on my end, whatever, no big deal in the longrun. Their fault, my fault, the fault of Cthulhu himself, it makes no difference. I will still return with a vengeance...once my computer, and my brain, have had time to sleep it off.
I also occasionaly, such as this morning, run into people that post pointless videos, with nothing to do with the title of the post, and nothing typed. Just an annoying pointless video. I plead you all, please, PLEASE don't post on these people's threads? If you do you just give them the attention that they obviously crave like like it Heroin.
Anyways...
Overall, I love this place, guys. You guys are awesome, and keep me coming back. It would actually be about a year today, if I hadn't waited on joining up. This is the first site where the community has always made me feel welcome, and I see you guys making other newcomers, if they be March Madness guys, or official newcomers, you make them all feel welcome here. This is the ONLY place I have ever seen that happen so quickly, and so often.
I'd like to say thanks to you guys, and thanks to The Escapist in general, for opening up such a kickass website, with badass people in it.

aaka, ..you didn't seriously think I'd randomly give out my real name did you? of course it's pry on my profile, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
