Alpha Protocol - is it worth the price?

Alpha Protocol is worth the money if someone is paying you to play it.

However, it is not worth spending any money to play it.

The game is not terrible. I enjoyed it for the price I paid. I appreciated the fact that it looked unpolished.

The only thing I object to is calling it a RPG. This game is extremely linear, where you go from point a to point b in most locations. A Rpg, yes even JRPGs, offer more freedom in how you progress than this game provided.

Go for it. I never really understood the complaints against it, but then again I never really experienced any of the bugs people have mentioned and my I lucked out with how I made my first character.

Once you meet Steven (don't call him Steve) Heck it will definitely be worthwhile. Especially if you call in his assistance on the subway mission.

People criticisng it seem to think that people only play games for combat gameplay. The most highly rated games don't even have good combat gameplay. Uncharted 2, gears of war, mass effect, red dead redemption, bioshock, fallout 3...all have mediocre combat yet 95% ratings.

yeah, it's worth it.

I'm almost finished with my 2nd play through of the gamae, and will start my third after.

if you like shows like 24, burn notice and movies like bourne series then you will love this game. very underrated, despite it's flaws.

Oh, yes.

The gameplay really isn't anything special and it's a buggy mess, but it totally makes up for it in the story/dialogue/RPG department.

Alpha Protocol, 6 Euros, is it worth it?

It most certainly is.

Personally, I only experienced one "bug" on PC, which involves the aim/look suddenly moving somewhere you didn't ask it to. It's nowhere close to a game-breaker though.

Despite some having had worse issues than that, I say that the game is worth playing, if nothing else, for the simple reason that it is, to my knowledge, the first EVER game to actually make good on having an interactive and changing storyline.

For that, it deserves a place in the Videogame Hall of Fame.

Make sure you choose the "Helpful" dialogue option when you first meet him XD
