I sold it to buy a new pistol, some upgrades and a lot of incendiaries.

Plan B: Kill it with Fire

I probably should, not actually checked how much it's worth but it has more stopping power than all the other ARs currently available to me. I always feel I need something more substantial than a pistol when there's a serious gunfight (still using the starter pistol though). However my hands are my most effective weapon, the majority of my kills are stealth backstabs/throat slittings.

From what I've seen, I wouldn't bother. And that's just looking at the screenshots. Aha aha aha.

From what I've heard, though, is that you still needn't bother. My friend has played it for a couple of hours, and tried to sell it to me ten minutes ago.

If you take the time to use aimed fire, stability is the most important stat of an AR followed by accuracy. Get those 2 decent enough and it's a head reaping party.

Also, you know what's more than substantial than a pistol in a fight? Incendiary Grenades... and people look so amusing when they run around on fire flapping their arms.

SMG and Shotgun are fucking useless... I refuse to take any points in them and remove any points from initial starting characters. Good if you're playing a Veteran character... that's 30 skill points refunded for not wasting them on useless weapons, which enables you to spend enough on stealth to start the game with Awareness (Master) straight out of the gate.

Incendiary grenade lack the subtlty of a knife across the gullet. I've payed no points into any weapon other than pistols (and martial arts), which is why I'm still crap with the AR.

Nice tip about the veteran though, this is still my 1st playthrough and not playing as a recruit so wont unlock it until at least my 3rd play.

Incendiaries may lack subtlety and grace but they set groups of people on fire and also require no investment in extra skills (okay, you can use the OverClock action on them but I've never done it and still burnt many a fucker to death with them)

I just finished my 4th playthrough a few hours ago.

Recruit can be a bit tough at the start as you begin without ANY skills but it's not like it's hard to rack up extra APs.

It's an enjoyable game. Not the greatest, but certainly fun to play. At least, that's the impression I've gotten after about 10 hours in the game.
