I have a Zune 30 and I love it. I would gladly trade up to a ZuneHD.

I also went to AnythingButiPpod.com to do some research, and ended up choosing the Cowon S9. The sound is brilliant, but the UI is not as fluid as an iPod.

iPod's not THAT good, it's just a popular way of doing it.
Though it isn't bad either.

I use a RCA Pearl, which was really nice... until its flash memory got corrupted. That's really the only problem with it. I won't recommend it because of this, but my experiences with it besides that have been just as good as experiences with the iPod.

I have an 8 GB Philips GoGear. It plays songs, vids, radio, e-books, and makes recordings. You just need to have head phones, cause it doesnt have a speaker system built in.

I have a 30GB 5g iPod Video. Since the iOS is (was?) a total piece of shit, I swapped it with Rockbox. It's the most convenient thing ever. I can play almost any music file type. I can make dynamic play lists, by selecting a song and simply holding the middle button, then inserting it in. I can easily listen to an album. My songs are arranged according to the folders I put them in. And no iTunes. Plus, I can show off to my friends by playing Doom on my iPod.

I rue the day it breaks down. Apparently Rockbox doesn't work on newer iPods. So I'm keeping an eye on this thread, too.

I enjoy my Zune. I've had the original for years and still works like the day I bought it. The earbuds that it came with were kinda crap, but that's just me.

I got a sony 4 gig walkman and that's all I've ever needed. No proprietary bullshit for me.
