I engage in piracy, though not as much as I used to.

But I am totally against anyone trying to make money by selling pirated/bootleg software/games/what have you.

Well, I guess you are then.

Is there any further point to this thread?

yes, saying one thing, and doing another often makes one a hypocrite.

Pirate games that sell for lots made by big-souless companies.

Actually buy games that are made by small time developers, are quite cheap and actually worth the money.

If you can't afford the games, but want to play them, you aren't.
if you can afford them, but are just tightfisted, you are.
I used to pirate the occaisonal game, when i was unemployed or in education, but now i have a job i've stopped.
though admitting piracy to people who buy games, is like boasting about how you really like running to someone in a wheelchair.

I suppose you are, but so is everyone else.
If anyone tries to tell you that they are in no way a tiny bit hypocritical, they lie :)

And BTW, I agree with you on the piracy thing. I will stop being a pirate, when the various industries stop their witchhunts on regular people.

When a pirated song costs 80.000$, something has gone seriously askew.

Do you pay for it?

No?

Are you against all piracy, or just people making money off of piracy?

Just people making money off of piracy?

Then no.

Yep.
You're also reported.
Why are you reporting me?
Yes, I did admit to engaging in piracy, but I did not post any links to said downloads, or detail it any further that just using the word "piracy".

I started this thread because I got to thinking. I know piracy in itself is wrong, but I still do it. But I see a lot of bootlegged games/software being sold on Craiglist and Ebay, and it pisses me off.

That's not why.
You're thread contains no discussion, is very vague, and overall, is pretty bad.

My most humble apologies. You sir are a God, and I beg of you to condemn me to the gates of hell for the great sin I have just commited.

No, unless you sell the games you pirate. Of course I still hate you for being a pirate... unless of course your talking about being a high seas pirate in which case "Arr, avast ye', ye scurvy lubber!"

Yes, you are a hypocrite. But the fact that you posted this question is a sign of a very good thing. You've found yourself at a crossroads, you can no longer ignore the unease of your dissonance welling up within your soul. You now must make a choice: do you continue pirating, building your house upon the sandy beach of excuses most pirates have? Or do you build your house upon the rock of high morals, turning away from your (arguably) thievery filled past?
(wow that was kinda corney.)
