Is there a new trend that hasn't reached Australia yet?

One involving Ponies ... to be more precise My little ponies??

I have to say i like to pride myself on keeping up with the latest anime but i have yet to see any miniature horses that have caught my eye.

Or are we still in the dark ages over here??

Let's see...
That would be 2457th thread asking about why is MLP so popular.
One advice: watch it. Then you should understand why is it popular.

Whot Whot Whot? Anime? It most certainly is not.

My little ponies have existed for some time now. However, the recent season of "Friendship is magic" has considerably increased the audience I think.

I really don't know where this trend came from and honestly its scary to me because it seems all my CoD loving "lets go be jocks on the football team" IRL friends are watching it secretly.

I seconded the use of that picture. Christ, how many times do we need this question, and why do so few people ever think of watching the show to see what the fuss ia about first?

Admittedly the "why do people like this rubbish?" threads aren't much of an improvement, but the people have at least gone through the motions.

As much as I hate saying, Torrents are the best way to get Ponies here (having being directed to one from a friend who was in Sweden of all places) since we'll probably never get The Hub (Hasbro-backed PayTV channel) here, what with Nick (Power Rangers: Samurai, Saturday, 9am!), Nick Jr, Disney, Playhouse Disney, Cartoon Network, Boomerang & ABC3 (Digital FTA channel of ABC, thrown in the Kids Channels package on Austar/Foxtel) being the only PayTV channels here with shows specifically for kids.

So, basically, we're still in the dark ages here (hey, last Power Rangers until this month we got on PayTV here was SPD (2005) in 2007 on Fox8, Mystic Force through RPM was on one of the Seven/Prime D-FTA channels, now we've got Samurai (2011) on Nick not even 6 months behind the US airings).

Seriously, we need to start bumping one of these threads, so people won't keep making new ones.

I think pony threads are like cars. You never notice them until you've participated in or made your own. suffice to say, people like ponies cuz people like ponies. Go watch Frinedship is magic (Skip to episode three or four for quality viewing) and if you like it, welcome to the herd.

The only analogy i can come up with for this pony thing is its like Marmite, you'll either love it or hate it. so go watch it, if you despise it, congratulations, now go to the left. if you love it then welcome to the herd!

I am not even sure if it is some kind of ultra meta trolling, but My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic, is just a very entertaining show. I watch it, and enjoy it, and just think to myself, "Now do I really like this show, or are the internet trolls making me like this show?" And from that point I just get too confused and forget about it while I enjoy the rest of the episode.

As your fuck up of a government goes which makes the UK's silly coalition look good, it has the most ridiculous laws in place which mean that video games are easily banned...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_video_games
Australia has banned more video games than "The Peoples ""Republic""" Of China.
I think Australia is safely locked away from the standard free world.

However this pony thing... I actually said this today already, I dunno where it came from and why I know neither, but this pony program popped up out of nowhere.

Basically all you need to know, it is terrible and has been fed to the trolls of the internet... its as if the Amazon rainforest has been cut down and put on a single bonfire. The videos have been dissected to death meaning these ponies say the most dreadful, yet hilarious things.

Also they seem to have stolen a relative of Spyro the Dragon >.>

Eh, they still haven't shown all of "H2O: Just add water" in Australia yet, putting it about 2 years behind places like the UK. It was created in Australia by an Australian company with its own Australian TV channel. At least with K9, it was a co-production with the BBC...and rubbish.
