Ok, that's it: We've given you ponies enough free reign for long enough. You have oppressed us Justice League fans for Long enough and we are all tired of it! So, as revenge, i will post the one character in all of existence that stands against absolutely everything the show and Bronies stand for...OH JOKER!

-snip-
Thank god you came along. I was beginning to think there was no taste left in animation on these forums.
Oh come now, who DOESN'T like Mark Hamill's incarnation of the Joker? It's so crazy you just end up laughing right along with him!

As much as I hate saying, Torrents are the best way to get Ponies here...
Or YouTube...
That's where I watched it before it came to the UK and to my knowledge it is still there.

I'm so glad they brought the cast back together for the Rocksteady Games. Hearing the maniacal Mark Hamill laugh warms my heart every time. Or chills it. I forget which.

Anyway, Jokers come and Jokers go, but somehow Mark Hamill will always remain the constant Joke in my mind.

Seriously, we need to start bumping one of these threads, so people won't keep making new ones.
Oh piss off, this was a thread asking what it's about as we don't get "The Hub" from Hasbro here, so to the bulk of those living here in Aus MLP:FiM basically doesn't exist except as a meme or something with a starting point we'll pretty much never find out about legitimately.

Youtube sir is a wonderful thing. Also a wonderful thing? Not being a dick to others on the Forum.

That laugh brings a smile to my face every time i hear it!

Oh, i think you and I are kindred spirits of a sort! Consider yourself friend requested!

And you're awfully aggressive. I can understand not liking a cartoon. MLP:FiM is a divisive subject that you will either like or dislike. Suffice to say, it is purely opinion-based. You insist on talking down to the entire fanbase of the show, insinuating that they have some sort of deep-seated psychological problem that somehow makes them obsessed with the show. Last time I checked, I wasn't sexually molested by a clown wearing a pastel-coloured horse mask. Honestly, a scenario like that or similar to that is going to be pretty goddamn rare. Declaring them "emotionally disturbed"? You're fucking kidding me. You have to be.

There are two attitudes that I rather dislike. One that liking something (in this case, a cartoon) implies that you are dumb/have mental issues/etc or that not liking something (again, like a cartoon) means that you are dumb/presumptuous/a troll/etc. If you don't like ponies or anime or whatever the hell it is that you might dislike, you're entirely free to. Despite what some obsessives might say, it's not your obligation to watch, enjoy or even understand. But maybe lay off the open disdain and ultimately childish declarations of those people who watch and enjoy it in regards to their intelligence/emotional stability/whatever.

It's a legitimately good show. I was sceptical at first, but then I watched it and I enjoyed it

I really don't know where this trend came from and honestly its scary to me because it seems all my CoD loving "lets go be jocks on the football team" IRL friends are watching it secretly.
Its worse when you find their stash of MLP porn let me tell ya. I was going to let this fad slide until I learned it wasn't so harmless. I think its more to the point if something gets popular no mater how bad it is someone will still say its great.

Is there a new trend that hasn't reached Australia yet?

One involving Ponies ... to be more precise My little ponies??

I have to say i like to pride myself on keeping up with the latest anime but i have yet to see any miniature horses that have caught my eye.

Or are we still in the dark ages over here??

-Confused Australian
Dingos eat ponies that why you can't find any. We have red necks where I am, they eat ponies too so I am safe.

My advice to anyone who wants to watch it, is to take it with a grain of salt. It's a great show, but don't go into it with the hype in your mind, also don't go watching thinking, "Hahaha, this will be so bad it's funny!" Watch it like any tv show you normally would, and you'll find yourself loving it.

i dont have cable, i watched it on youtube. however, ive heard that austrailia has a pretty steep limit on bandwidth.

i wouldnt call it anime really, its anime in the same way fosters home for imaginary friends is anime. anyway, its a reimagining of my little pony with strong characters, good writing, and good animation. certainly not for everyone but it has become popular with adult males who feel that a show can still be good even if its cute and sweet enough to give you diabetes

ps-i appreciate you forming your question out of curiosity and not the typical, "i dont know what this is by im gonna assume it sucks" stance that most anti-mlp folk have

Nobody I know watches the show, but then again, I don't know very many emotionally disturbed people.

Resisting the urge to post a big haters gonna hate picture. I'll settle with the one above.
If being "emotionally disturbed" means liking things out with CoD and Halo and something that's a little bit different then sue me, I must be one of those people you've stereotyped into one big group without cause or reason.

Oh no! Bright colors! That must mean there's something wrong with me! I'll just go back to enjoying something that's enjoyable to me.
In the end it comes down to this.

Because I'm happy with my choice in what I watch.

The only analogy i can come up with for this pony thing is its like Marmite, you'll either love it or hate it. so go watch it, if you despise it, congratulations, now go to the left. if you love it then welcome to the herd!
Wait... i hope you mean vegemite my good sir?
ive never had vegemite, but my ex girlfriend made me have some marmite once. until i got the taste out of my mouth, i thought she had just poisoned me

Google? Search bar?

Wikipedia?

The search bar would be your preferred method of acquiring such information in the future lad. As you can see, these threads usually devolve into something of a mess rather quickly. MLP:FiM is a fine show, and worth giving a shot. However it is not everyone's cup of tea. That is all.

I've watched a few episodes of this thing and, to be honest, I neither love it nor hate it. As far as I can see it's just a kid's programme, admittedly a good quality one, but it's not particularly remarkable for anything other than this weird cult-following it's got.

My Little Pony? Isn't that a girl's show or something?
Yeah man, but cools guys like me watch the show because it's ironic or something.
Seriously, ironic stuff is awesome, but I don't think you'd know about stuff like irony....

Ironically watch something? Man, that's so brilliant! This must be like the first time ever that anyone's done that!
oh there have been other times, but you've probably never heard of them (^.^)

Oh. Okay. Well I guess I'll have to keep an ear out to hear of them.
You may not like mlp, but by god do I enjoy your posts in this thread XD

The trend has reached AUS. Definitly. Whether or not the show itself has reach remains to be seen, but the trend is certainly here.

Like every other post, I'll say go watch it. It's not as great as it seems to be made out to be, but it's by no means a bad show.

because it's nice, funny, and happy, and because of the strong characterisation and animation, ridiculously cute at times. Plus it lends itself incredibly well to stuff like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irQ_d78feMA
