Ask him if he loves you, if he says yes, he has stupidly high expectations, if he says yes, but he does not like you, you are either gonna have to live with it, or try to bond with him, if he just plain out says no, then I only have two words.

Fuck. Him.
Because incest means love!

[sub][sub][sub][sub]I am so, so sorry.[/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]

OT: Your a teenager. He's your parent. It is natural for you to hate him with all your being.
Please, please tell me you know that's not what I meant.
I knew what you meant man

Hey guys, I need a second opinion.

My dad sees me as a failure and regulary calls me stupid and goes crazy at me at everything, but never physically hurts or abuses me but makes fun of me at every turn. I am at secondary school, the standard grades i'm working for are: Foundation maths, Credit english, Credit history, Credit Modern studies, general chemistry and credit graph comm. I'm not a super smart 14 year old but not a super smart one just average.

Back to the main matter, my dad makes fun of me shouts at me as if he wants to batter me and avoids me at every possibility.

It is only until there just now I have realised, I fucking hate that bastard. Using the information about me would you say I am right to hate him or am I just a whiny teenager. You may just think this is me exagerating it but i'm really not. Anyway voice your opinions.
Show that bastard right
get an A on your mid-terms and let him weep in fear of your intelligence

Couldn't agree more with this comment. And after you show him your A punch him in the jaw. (you might want to bulk up, by the sound of it if you don't get flatten him out in one hit your dead, no matter how smart you are)

yeah you have a right to hate him! If he is doing that stuff for no reason, he should be hated.

He sounds like a dick when you put it like that.
This guy speaks the truth!

+1 cookie for being right! :):)

I'd say you're completely right for hating him.
I can't stand people like that. Emotional abuse is just as bad as physical abuse.

Look at it this way, if the asshat doesn't stop teasing and pestering you at your final high-school year..when you graduate and meet him afterward, kick him in the crotch, Extra points if you manage to follow up with a witty one liner.

I'm evil, i know.

Another Scottish person! Hey! History, Modern Studies and Chemistry - I did those, fun times.

Looking at your subjects, you're sitting alot of credits, so your by no means dumb, which makes his taunting all the more cuntish. Do you feel like hitting him some times? If his (admittedly god awful) behaviour is driving you into a rage, I'd suggest taking up a sport to get the anger out, you'd be surprised how much it helps. Other than that just bide your time and look forward to the day you can move out.

This is going to sound really stupid and clichéd but calling child line helps too, the people on there are awesome and don't hesitate in telling some one if he lays a finger on you.

OT: you're totally justified, hate away guy.

bearing in mind you might be a bit biased

However, if what you say is correct, I'd be pretty full of hate as well

I wonder why he does it, though? Mabye he didn't succeed in his own life and wants to take it out on you, or wants you to do UBER-WELL in his stead, and he's annoyed that you're merely a normal human being?

I would say that he is your father, and so probably doesn't just hate you for no good reason. It may be constructive to find out why (if you don't know already).

Ask him what he expects of you

From what you said he sounds like a bit of a douche but that's what you wrote of course you are going to be biased

From what you said, yeah he sounds like a terrible dad.

My dad claims that I'm wasting time at college. (I failed the 1st year.)

I reply that he's no better. All he does is play Plants Vs. Zombies on his shitty laptop when he gets home from work.

Yes your right in hating him, but then again he could be right in insulting you. So I'm gonna say that your right to hate him and you are a whiny teenager. Yay for compromises.

Meh, we all go through rough patches, but belive you me, you have no idea how hard it is to perform under VERY high expectations and that a simple slip up could cause a nuclear war in your family.
(If you haven't noticed I was talking about my own life)
