Ha. That's the first trap I fell into here. I was actually so curious to find out what the button did I made this account. While I regretted the button, I do not regret the account.

Ah, the good old red button.
Most people will tell you you have to wait 24 hours for it to go away, but that isn't actually the case.
If you can find a user (me, for example) that has the spinning button badge (it's the one that looks like a white wheel with four red sections on it), you can click that and it'll nullify the effects of the red button badge.
Kross implemented it as a sort of hidden emergency exit.
