Am I the only one who really needs to finish games more often?

I generally make sure I finish every game I buy (as long as i'm enjoying it, that is) before I start playing another SP game. The caveat is if a MP game grabs my attention, I could put the SP game down for months.

The exception atm being AC: Brotherhood, haven't even started the SP yet, been too busy Witchering.

You're not the only one. When I was little I rarely played games all the way through. As I hated losing in them, so I never tried to get to the harder areas. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a good example. I believe it's a very good game, but I have yet to beat it.

Of course now, I grew out of that and now I want to play some of the games I've never got around to beating. I just need some money...

Shenmue II?...
On the Dreamcast?...
That?s quite a list and while there are some good titles on that list, don?t feel like you need to finish all of them. As a renter, I don?t finish most of the games I play. Just the ones I really like.I don?t feel compelled to finish every game I play the way I do with every book I pick up.

Same thing happens to me, I've only finished 5 games in my entire life, out of 130+ I own, and countless more I've borrowed (I wish my local library hadn't stopped renting out video games, they were £1 for a week.) I would finish them but I never have the time. Maybe one day when I am seriously bored.

I don't finish games all that often. I generally get bored before the end, and I don't feel any pressure to finish something I got bored of.

I recently picked up a PS3 so that bumped up my list of games a bit, but I tend to get through games pretty quickly.

Little Big Planet 2: Can't really beat this, but I guess platinum trophy would cover that.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Have to be at least halfway through the game, but I have no clue really.
Uncharted 2: Probably the furthest along in single-player on this list.
inFAMOUS: Kind of touched on this one, not too far in.
God of War 3: Similar to inFAMOUS, sort of dabbled didn't play too much.
Portal 2: A good chunk of co-op levels to complete still.

I bought Terraria a few days ago and that has been eating up my game time, and Demon's Souls should be shipping to me sometime today and arrive tomorrow I would imagine.

I seem to buy more games than I have time to play or finish. And that really bugs me. I also have several games that are still neatly wrapped up as I haven't had the time to start playing them. And yet, I buy more games... I seem to be incapable of walking past any offer I see.

I have probably finished most of the games that I own, but there are a lot of games that I have enjoyed and not finished (Demon's Souls and Oblivion to give a few). If I don't particularly enjoy a game, I might run through it or just leave it. I don't feel bad about those later on though. I wish my boss gave me payed leave to concentrate on my games. I can only hope...

My husband is notorious for not finishing games.
It's been happening to me more lately too. (I think it's contagious!) But I really plan to buckle down and finish some of my games, damn it! But...thanks to Steam and the fact that a lot of the games I like (and the types I like) are released almost always around the same time as each other, I have so many to play still. >_>

Edit: Or go on sale at the same time.**
This happened to me at a local game shop recently. I was intent on finishing Twilight Princess before buying any other game. However, I went to aforementioned game shop with a friend of mine who went to buy Magic cards.

Bored out of my mind waiting, I just browse around only to find Portal 2 and Bulletstorm both being sold for $20 each (and Portal 2 was new).

Resistance was futile.
Wow, what game shop was this? That's about 1/3 of the price of my local game shop :/

I'd say I complete about 90 percent of the games I play. Every so often I get a game that sucks too much to finish. While I really hate not finishing a game, sometimes it saves me from wanting to kill the developer.

I have completed about seven games in my gaming lifetime. Super Mario Bros 3, portal 1 and 2, fable 1 and 2, and the half-life games that came in the orange box.

Every holiday I have a similar situation because of Steam sales. I've got oodles of unfinished games that I'm looking to finish but probably won't.

Wow, that is sort of an alien concept to me.

If a game is good, or hell even decent, then isnt the purpose of playing to finish it?

Hell, in recent memory the only game I can recall not finishing was FF9... and that was because I couldnt bring myself to end such a glorious tribute to the olden days of the series.
I dont think I will ever "finish" it.

Let me put it this way; I currently own over 230 games. I've finished, at most, 50 of them -- and that's a really generous guess. The OP is probably more in the majority than the minority, especially of people old enough to have very little free time (read: anyone over the age of 10).

Out of all of my games, I'm sad to say that I think I have more unfinished than finished. :/ I just don't have the time and sometimes, I don't have the attention span if it's one of those ridiculously long games.

1-Jak II
2-Front Mission 4
3-Beyond Good&Evil
4-The Mark of Kri
5-Suikoden III(I'm stuck on the final boss)
6-Lost Odyssey(I need to start that game soon)
7-God of War 2&3
8-Saint's Row II
its not bad, quite fun and I love the artstyle (its looks very pretty, not in a technical way but artstyle) great for you know just midless violence and escapism

as for story it has Narm Charm I supose, I wouldnt be putting it on my top 10 list anytime soon but it was worth the purchase

its alot like god of war in many ways, except I prefer it because I can move the camera around and it looks nicer

so yeah, its a fighter thats all about the specticle
