Am I the only one?

This is a question about Mass Effect 1. There is no end to people complaining how combat is boring and frustrating. This basically everyone's opinion. Am I really the only one who found the combat system amazing and exciting?

I actually liked it, it took some getting used too but throwing crates at people is FUN!

I don't know about amazing, but it was ok with me. People just wanted it to be Halo, which it wasn't. Not every game with aliens and guns needs to be Halo, but some people are really, really, stupid.

I actually had fun shooting people with my futuristic laser guns from the future. Because it made me feel like I was playing through those scenes in a sci fi epic where the good guys and bad guys just blast each other with lasers in corridors.
Whatever, it may not have been the best combat, but I had fun with it.... then again I was really boring and just did the soldier class so maybe I never saw the full depth of the combat.... but still I grew to love my laser rifle

Indeed. I actually thought the combat was quite good and don't really understand what people are complaining about.

And thank whatever god you believe in for that. (No I don't hate Halo, just some variety is nice now and then)

It's fun. Not as streamlined as it could be, but it's still fun. It's like being a Jedi or technopath with guns!

I sure don't hold that opinion. It's especially much of a shame because all the right mechanics were there. They managed to ruin it anyway.

No, its because I didn't bother to try.

I bought it because a friend wouldn't stop pestering me about it and I just caved in and bought it so I had a preset hatred of the game already.

As many others have already said...The combat was solid, but lacking in a certain...finesse.

Too many times in that game was I stomped out simply because all of the AI enemies decided to do a suicide run at me and my partners did nothing as they made Swiss Cheese out of me.

When the combat worked, it worked well, when it didn't...it was broken as hell.
