I just wanted a thread to post on. Usually, "Am I the Only One" threads are simple enough to answer, because you just leave your opinion in a neat little parcel on the OP's doorstep and skip away until someones quotes you.

Not for me anyway, I always end up typing more then I wanted to. Like now, ....

Just about as much as I hate the obligatory "You are never the only one," "No," and "Why do these threads keep popping up?" posts beneath the OP.

While I don't support those threads, I understand the whole feeling of being what feels like the only person to think something in a particular social setting, be it a group of friends or a website with a very vocal popular opinion, as well as the fact that "Am I the only one...?" is a phrase expressing a particular feeling that might be a sort of exaggeration rather than truly feeling alone in your opinion, as well as a way of asking for a sort of agreement with the opinion or if they're particularly hopeful, an explanation of the popular opinion.

And yes, you did mislead me. You may feel smug now.

This type of thread is alright, but I hate it when it's an "I'm so depressed and angsty, but don't make me feel better, because I enjoy feeling depressed and angsty" I don't like those threads, because they're a waste of my 54.0 meg per second. (Yes, that is my internet speed)
