Seriously however, I really do have to disagree with Movie Bob's impression of MIB 3. He states that it is nothing more than a rehash of MIB 2, but I honestly have no idea how he arrived at that conclusion. The movie (to me) really does have almost nothing to do with MIB 2's plot.

It's good that you disagree with Bob. Life would be so boring if we all got along with everyone all the time.

That being said, it's just an opinion based on one perspective and nothing else besides. It's nice to acknowledge it from time to time, but it's not the end all be all. You need to find people that you tend to agree with more often than not and go from there.

Ah, I haven't seen it. I did not particularly like the first sequel, so I'm not seeing this movie in theaters. Moviebob has a vendetta against certain directors, film genres, etc. He hates the ever-loving crap out of Brett Ratner and Wes Craven, for instance.

He's no the only one that hates Brett Ratner. It is a fairly popular opinion from a lot of people that Brett Ratner is a I'll do it too director.

Also, he does not hate Wes Craven. He hates the Scream franchise, which is a different animal entirely.

Looks interesting let me just have a lo-...BLAST! Well fell for that one. Funny you should mention MIB3 I just saw it and you know what..I like it. Sure it wasn't anything original but it was a good laugh, had a fairly interesting story and the ending actually left me satisfied unlike other things Bob has defended (Sorry, sorry I wont ever mention that again).

And honestly the more I watch Movie Bob the more I get the impression that he tends to go overboard with his reviews for comedic effect.

I've not seen the movie but I think his criticism is pretty valid given that I saw an excerpt from an interview with Will Smith about the movie saying that when they were trying to come up with ideas for the script they were aiming to get Smith's character in to a situation where he could be a "fish out of water" again. That seems to line up pretty neatly with Bob's criticism to me.

I base my judgement on movies on my perspective.
You, on your's.
I'm sorry about your disagreement with the review, but it changes nothing.
Theres no point in trying to justify your perspective over his by seeing if anyone agrees with you. Just enjoy the film and dont let other peoples critisism hinder that.

I loved the Rush Hour trilogy, hated X-Men 3, and liked Tower Heist. The Scream franchise is awesome. Moviebob doesn't like it because he cherished being a horror buff and Scream, as a horror meta film, cheapened it in his mind. He didn't like the fact that anyone could be a horror buff (and that it doesn't make him special.)

Once again, Bob is not the only one that hates Ratner. It is a fairly popular opinion to hate the guy that a lot of people besides Bob share. You might not share that opinion and that's fine, but more people than just Bob has it.

Metaness in a movie could have worked if it was done well. Scream did not do it well. There is a movie called Student Bodies that did the Scream gimmick a lot better. It is lazy to say your situation is very similar to a certain horror movie and not come up with a unique way to describe it. When that happens, it takes one out of the movie and wishing they were watching those movies instead.

If you get upset over opinions, quite frankly you're doing it wrong. The best thing to do is say, "yeah whatever," and move on. Chances are you are not going to change his mind, nor will what I say change yours.
