Lately I've been noticing a lot of topics that have to do with incredible things that humans have achieved. While they are indeed interesting topics, after awhile they seem to get a tad boring solely only hearing about ourselves.

I stumbled across this video of a fox showing off some incredible hunting skills and simply put, I was amazed. Does anyone else have any stories, images, or videos of animals doing amazing things?

I would give him a 10...

I love that video.

OT: I guess my dog has an odd ability to know when she's going to have a walk. Mega excitement can be triggered by A) Me going near my shoes, or B)The rustling of a plastic bag I use to clean up after her.

Octopus are often able to escape from the tanks people put them in due to their problem solving skills and body structure.

My dog is the same. She reacts to not only the plastic bag, but also to any sight of my mp3 player, as I always put my headphones in when I take her out.

OT: I've always been fascinated by the so-called counting animals--animals that seem to be able to do math. There was a case of a horse who tap it's hooves to indicate the correct answer to a problem, but couldn't do it when blindfolded; it was taking cues from it's owner.

The weird part? The owner hadn't trained it to react to cues; he was unconsciously signaling the horse with his body language, and the horse could pick up on it and tell when he was right. That's pretty cool.

Why does this thread not have more posts?! There are so many awesome animals.

Sharks + David Attenborough + Slow motion = Good times.

And that fox is beautiful, it's pouncing move kinda reminds me of how cats hunt :D

A squid can fit through any hole bigger than a quarter. That's pretty amazing right there. Or is it an octopus?

a Tardigrades can survive in the vacuum of space for at least 10 minutes and up to 6000 atmospheres of pressure(~6 times the pressure at the bottom of the deepest ocean trench).

Moar Attenborough :D he's the man.

I love these bears, they all seem to be having a great time :)

EDIT: This little series of Attenboroughs is really interesting. A 10 min show on a crazy animal that he chooses each week :D http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00krkgt

I always thought chameleons were pretty amazing. The way they can change the colour of their bodies and the length and power of their tongues. But then, almost every animal is amazing in its own right.

:) Gotta love the animals, they make this planet a pretty damn interesting place, and Attenborough is fantastic at narrating and imparting his wisdom in all the stuff he does :D

ON the other hand, that vid is pretty fucking funny :D

See this is why I love nature documentaries so much, all animals are incredible in one way or another. I've watched that fox clip 10 times already! I wanna know what the music is called when he makes the dive...

Here's the only thing I can think of right now:

EDIT: Oh I got another one!

AN OCTOPUS VERSUS A FREAKING SHARK

My only beef is that that narrator is bloody annoying. >_>

I couldn't believe it when the bird started imitating noises like the camera shutter and chainsaws!

That's incredible! It's like a Mockingbird on steroids.
