It's been that price since you could pre-order it. Don't get me wrong, it is a very good price, and I am sorely tempted to buy it. But it's not a drop that reflects the drop on Amazon.com. If it had dropped by the same amount, it would be around £15-20 (if I'm getting the conversion rate vaguely right)

I suggest you get Portal from play.com instead. They've got pretty good prices for EU residents like me and do free delivery. Then again, that does mean it takes two weeks for the item to be delivered. I bought it on pre-order and I'm still waiting.

And you could do a double whammy and lose your personal data when buying the game from Play and playing it on the PS3:

Well I've ordered it now anyway, so no going back, although, why would I go back on Portal 2?

And you're right, it IS a very good price compared to some I've been seeing.

Isn't the "free PC copy" of Portal 2 from the PS3 linked to the same Steam account? Or am I wrong and it gives you a completely separate CD key (or whatever)?

It's the same account. But I've heard that it will let you play co-op between your computer and a PS3 connected to the same account. I don't know why you'd want to, but it's an option.

Maybe steam should just replace PSN on the playstation 3

That would be both hilarious and made of win. The only question is how that would work, since connecting a game to Steam requires activation. I don't think the world is ready for retail games on consoles to have DRM.
