Unless the arcade games actually came on a physical disc why would you bother buying it from anywhere other than directly?

Because you could pay with actual money rather than points meaning you wouldn't have to buy ?12 worth of points to get a ?10 game

Exactly. I wish I had known about this, because I would have preferred inputting a code over buying MS funny money and having stuff left over. But again, I had no clue.

Maybe people should contact customer service and let them know they're interested. I plan to.

Maybe because you could go over to xbox.com to purchase 1200 points and spend it on a title. Since they fixed the amounts you could purchase to non-stupid increments, it's functionally identical to making the purchase through Amazon, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Microsoft (Amazon basically gets a piece of the pie for having Microsoft do more legwork).

I'm betting Microsoft wasn't giving them any room for profit, and lack of interest amongst the masses simply killed the idea all together.

I don't even think it's a lack of interest. It's a lack of people being aware such an option existed.
