Wasn't the original Alice in Wonderland book completely fucked up? Like, Alice getting raped kind of crazy? Or am I being literalistic-dumb?

Hmmm....first Brutal Legend and now giving Alice McGee free reign? Do I sense an EA 'don't be evil anymore' policy?
nope, it's EA. The way they're going to kill a cult favorite is to make it 'accessable', which is the fast lane to mediocrity.

either that or they'll make it a short game, withold content, and charge you for more weeks down the line via the slippery slope of microtransactions, just like mirror's edge.
you do realize that ea was the one who released it in the first place right?
The EA then is not the EA now

EA somewhat redeemed themselves to me when they published Skate, since the game was built from the ground up to appeal to a very specific core audience. Skate 2 may have deviated from that vision a bit, but I'm not going to complain yet.

Positive aspects of games like Dead Space and Mirror's Edge also show signs of intelligent life at EA. Signs, not proof.

Actually, if I recall EA has always been bad.
That is, if I recall correctly. My hindsight has a tendency to be a little skewed.
They were always mediocre aside from certain series (EA Sports BIG and such).

EA Games were always terrible.

That aside, I'm really excited about this sequel, and I hope it ends up as awesome as I've wanted..
