Not sure if this should be here or gaming but:

American McGee's sister has been missing for a long period of time, and he needs help spreading awareness.

THIS IS NOT GAMERGATE RELATED
Yes, he received death threats from someone who was mad he took "sides" with GG, but there is no evidence of who is responsible.

Please help spread awareness of this, contact other websites to run stories, and if you are local to his state or neighboring states, please ask local radio shows to spread awareness.

FFS. This is why all threats of this calibre should be taken seriously. I hope she is found alive, unharmed and unmolested in any sense of the term.

Why would that need to be specified in the OP?

I think it's pretty clear the thread is missing persons related.
Because in McGee's original posting about it, he mentions that the last thing of note was an anti-gamergate threat that specifically mentioned his sister by name.

Chao probably just didn't want people to focus on that in particular and focus on the actual missing person.

Gotcha. I went looking for details on the case and got KiA all over me for a few minutes, so I can appreciate the consideration.

The threat certainly seems germane to the case, although I couldn't find actual verbage of an explicit threat against Mercy in the screen captures, just varied threats against McGee himself, so it's hard to say. I'll presume it was made and was of similar candor.

Given she's a mother and I couldn't find any statements regarding mental health and/or a propensity for disappearance, then...yeah. This seems pretty bad. The alleged apathy of the police department is a bit curious. I don't know if that's a worried family angry that they haven't found her yet, or if they're genuinely apathetic, in which case I'd want to know why. Someone missing for over a month, that...typically doesn't have a happy ending. =\

It appears the local police is taking the case now seriously. While this certainly is good news, any help or information that can be offered, is certainly still as welcome as ever.
