We drink anyways. Except, we try not to get caught.

Although, to be honest, I hate alcohol. It tastes like ass.

I'm a Buddhist. I'm not allowed to drink alchohol ever. Extremely bad karma. I cope with... some kind of universe juice I get from meditating.

To be fair, it's hard to miss what you never experience.

And spelling.

On topic, I agree. Either I'm bizarre or I don't see the appeal in ingesting mind-altering toxins I have the pay for.
Hey!
I'm exactly the same!
...wait. That doesn't exactly help you, does it...
Indeed.

We drink anyway.

Also. "Australians, how do you cope with so many games being banned?" "Japanese, how do you cope with the western world getting a horrible mental images of you due to the American interpretation of your media?" "Europeans, how do you cope with being Europeans?"

The list goes on and on.

I find this post very telling of how easily pop culture convices people that something is normative. I realize I am the antithesis to this thread, having not had my first alcoholic beverage until I was 24 (outside of religious practice), but despite my utter lack of interest I can safely say I dont know too many people who were "regular drinkers" until they were already, or cusping upon, the 21-year mark. I knew some, but they werent the majority. The same rang true for smoking. I only know a few people who were smokers/chewers before the age of 18, and most have already kicked the habit by now.

I think too many people are obsessed with flirting with the boundries of bad behavior to prove they are "adults" when such pretences show only the opposite to be true.

Please note I am not referring to legal drinking as bad behavior (if done responsibly), merely the drive of the young and stupid to rush into drinking instead waiting like responsible people.

As a further note I do recognize the legality of minors drinking in thier own homes under supervision of parents or legal guardians...but that is a fine line to walk and I personally wouldnt permit it, but that is one man's opinion.

Personally, I don't drink even now that I am over 21.

For everyone else, we just don't tell anyone, and the smarter ones of us don't advertise it.

I've yet to find an alcoholic drink that doesn't taste like alcohol. And I think the reason is that they all contain alcohol. So my question is, who actually likes the taste of alcohol? I don't think it's a flavor that humans are supposed to enjoy.

I don't really intend to drink even after I'm 21. Needless to say it dosn't bother me.
This pretty much sums up what I think. Well except that you can drink when you're 19 here, but you get the idea.

Now im a Brit so we can drink from pritty much any age as long as are parents say its ok, then 18 is the legal age to get boose. As far as i know in america drinking is prohibited until your the age of 21...How on earth do you cope/did you cope with that? it sounds regiculus.
The same way we cope with not drinking before 18? (we also have a legal drinking age of 18 here)

I didn't touch a drop of alcohol before 18. And it carried some benefits with it, since it showed my parents that I was a responsible person, which made them feel confident in me to buy me alcohol from the store. (over here you can only buy alcohol at pubs and resturants when you're 18, but you're not allowed to purchase merchandised alcohol until you're 20).

Sometimes it's quite beneficial to impress your parents. : )

My friends did it before they were 21 and I stayed sober and boring until after I was 21. Honestly, I never felt the "need" to drink, at least not until I got buzzed the first time, now whenever I hear the old phrase "I need a drink" I get what they mean.

So I guess to answer the op; ignorance is bliss?

Our alcohol sucks.
Edit:Darn buttons. Anyway our stuff is just terrible, watered down piss. Plus we drink illegally before that.
I'm sure you're only talking about beer, and I would agree with you. I've only tried a couple available here, and have sworn that crap off since. Personally, I like good ol' Canadian whiskey when I'm out at the local club, but I might be willing to try beer again someday if I can get something that is as far away from Coors as possible. I always figured beer was beer though, so I just sort of left it at that.
